Problem with launch

So after a few years I thought I would jump into a campaign on Empire. Sad thing is, after installing the game I was stuck at the "preparing to lauch..." window and it would load but then fade out and come back. Has anyone else have this problem or is there a solution. Thank you.

im having a similar problem, here, still working on a solution, so far, still havnt found anything. try exiting steam and loging back in. if tht doesnt work then try uninstalling it and install it again,. if all else fails rip your hair out in fustration

I may lose hair by next week then. Would CA's support team have any solution or is the game too old for their care anymore. It's kind of annoying because Empire is actually my favorite TW game behind Napoleon.

Somthing very simaler happen to my game every time I tried to luanch it would say luanching and then do nothing and I tried all that stuff that you said.So looks like I wont Have hair for a while

I figured it out. i deleted all the files and just let steam reinstall the basic files. It started up and runs perfectly. May help similar problems

yea, i have found some old mod files as well tht uninstall and verification wont take out for some reason

I deleted every single file and then did the verify cache. It only replaced the vanilla files, hopefully this fixes other problems.

now im facing a new problem. After a few turns my game goes into a slow crash. It starts to randomly freeze and go to an inlarged form of my desktop then back to the game and eventually go to a black screen with only the mouse. I do not know how to fix this.

i deleted my game n renstalled it andi try to play empire and it just says running and nothing happens

hey miller, have you checked the game files, since you deleted all files, it may have not replaced all the files after the cache verify.

PainTendo, physically go into your files and delete them. Just delete the whole Empire: Total War file. Then go back to the steam app and click on verify game files. This will replace all the files needed for the game and it should fix the problem. Bombastic, I was thinking that as well.

If it is of any significance, I can not get passed year 1707 without the game freaking out. It doesnt matter how many units, buildings, or territories I hold. The game just freezez and goes into a crash/reboot cycle during that year's turn

Yes, after doing that, right click on empire in steam and then verify cache and it should replace all the files. Once that is done lauch the game and it should work.

Try launching the game direct without using steam. Launch directly from your hard drive this solved alot of glitches for me. Good luck
