worth it with darthmod?
I know this game is often ciritzed. But with the darthmod, is it fun? I'm thinking about buying it

I personally think this game has the most depth in the total war franchise, because of 3 world threaters (Americas, India, Europe). Having Alliances and a trade network with different nations is really the key in this game, unliike Rome II or Attila. Although both are fun too. If you expand too fast, the whole world will declare war on you, because they see you as a threat, but if you make allies and have the same enemies, the AI will not backstab you if they really envy you. The combat in Empire and Napoleon is slower than the newer ones, but positioning and the mix of infantry, artillary and cavalry is important. I have only been playing without darthmod, because the mod makes it to easy and produces different bugs like corrupted saves for example. However, I would still advise to save often and create different saves

Even though it looks like a simple game, the more you play the more you appreciate the depth in comparison to Total Wars like Rome 2 or Attila

Here is a quick guide if you might buy it

It may seem like this game is often criticised by people despite it possessing a "Very Positive" rating. I must disagree. Although, I must admit, using Darthmod further improves the game.

The game in it's vanillia state is the overall best way to play the game. With Darthmod the game gets too easy, too grindy, and too repetative. There are alot more smaller mods that are better along with the packfile manager where you can mod the game to your liking.

First of all, you do not want Darthmod. If you get the game, play it each faction in turn. Do not just play the short campaigns, but try the other lengths as well because they all have differing immediate and later primary objectives making each a different game. Then, once you know the game and know what you would like different that is when you ask for mod suggestions that change those things specifically. Darthmod will not usually be a favored suggestion.

This is the third Totalwar I play after Rome TW and Medieval II, and I'm enjoying a lot (without mods), it a great game, it has more depth than M2 and more tactical on campaign, this time sea trade is very important if you control the sea you control economy, and naval battles are fun to play.
What is bad about Darthmod exactly?

not darthmod. The game itself

A lot of mods are good for this game. I wanted Swarthmore but I got a bad download aNd it didn't work. However Aditional units mod is good (although not my favorite.) imperial splendour is awesome except some vanilla units look weird. The ACW mod is awesome if you like the civil war and want to manage the union or confedercy., only downside is the world map is off limits.

And Road of American revolution is good. It reinvents the British and U.S Continental troops.

Many things. Its too easy, the map is a mess because of all the armies you and the AI can recruit, this also throws the economic strategy out because the money you get is insane. Land battles take extremly long and naval battles become impossible because in teh late game the AI will spam heavy first rates, throwing all naval strategy out. The AI diplomacy is more random then vanillia, native americans get land in europe. There is more but its too much to list.
