Tips for playing Austria
I have heard that Austria is a pretty hard nation to play so I was wondering if any of you can give me tips on how to play as them.

Your cav is good, and you get early light infantry. It's pretty easy tbh.

You should turn Austria into a Constitutional Monarchy to be on par with Poland (CM). Can be done by 1703..

This pretty much goes for any faction. It's basically THE go to form of government.

Personally, I dont ever change government types. And that is with long games meant to control all of the world. Each of the three types have both benefits and penalties. The trick is learning to play those penalties and benefits to advantage. Then just to play with it I have deliberately rolled through the governments just to find their affects, but never when I have not meant to.

For years I had played what government was handed to me to be played to the end. Lately have been experimenting with CMs, it's no wonder why England (CM) is always ssuch a breeze to play..! It does require a little knack to get to being a CM, best done in early play for those who don't know better, none-the-less it is an interesting aspect of the game to learn.
Nah I prefer the absolute monarchy

how do you change government type?
This is my way of doing it which is probably the best. So you would like to exempt every city from tax other than your capital then raise the Lower class taxes all the way up and the higher class all the of way down. In 3 turns there will be a rebellion and you get to choose to side with the rebels or with your government obviously you're gonna side with rebels. After you do that it will allow you to control the rebel army and so take over the capital and your revolution succeeds changing your government type. However be careful if you're a monarchy changing to a republic as other monarchies will change relations with you negatively so prepare for war if you are changing to a republic.

What he is talking about is only the first step to creating a Constitutional Monarchy. A player has to have 2 revolutions to achieve a CM, one with Nobility and another with the middle or lower class. To speed the process up a player could/should move the army from the home region capital, as it may delay the revolution effect, also to ensure the revolution is sucessful dismantle the capital opra house, but not always necessary. Just to piss off (PO) everybody I raise the taxes to the max on all classes, also after the first revolution "Do not repair capital", that really pisses off the populace..! (plus you will only have to repair them all over again after the second revolution) . Also do nothing to improve those who run the government, if you have a good guy there, get rid of him or them, or move them where they will not benifit the populace positively, besides they won't be there for long anyways...
