Game wont launch(SOLVED)

you read the title, upon installation of the game it says "Running" stops and nothing happens.

Please help

Windows is not giving you permission to run.

Maybe will work... Browse into you Empire folder, right click Empire.exe, select properties, go to the compatibility tab and set to run under XP and tick the run as administrator box, click ok and try launching again.

If that does not work, the instructions get more complicated. Let me know if you need and I will write them out.

alright im reinstalling the game (i did just to be sure and also before you posted) this might take a few hours (greatest internet around)

Wait! This is what I was trying to save you with the downloading again. Stop, but only pause the download. Top left, click Steam, then select exit. Go find your Steam launcher, right click, select run as administrator, now finish installing the game, then do the above with setting to xp and run as administrator

In that case, make sure you run Steam as administrator to install so it has permission to write the needed files.

Then, browse into you Empire folder, right click Empire.exe, select properties, go to the compatibility tab and set to run under XP and tick the run as administrator box, click ok and try launching again. Set your graphic settings, exit, exit Steam, run Steam normally and play, You will have to deal with clicking yes to give permission to launch.

you dont need to do any folder searching, its simply a bug.
just saving you from minutes, this takes seconds.

A bug in Windows security that ending task and launching again only sometimes helps some people, others not at all, but you also have to repeat each time you launch. Why would you not fix permanently or do you just like playing with malfunctioning programs?
