what is this and what does it do.

Your hotel works as follows:

You can donate fodder to the warehouse from which the insects eat automatically every 4 hours. New slots can be unlocked in the storehouse and existing slots can be expanded so that more insects are supplied and the storehouse needs to be replenished less often.

When an insect eats it gains satisfaction (red box below), but insects also lose a fixed amount of satisfaction with each feeding. So you have to feed more than the natural decay to make progress. If an insect has reached a sufficient satisfaction level, its population will grow (current satisfaction as well as population growth threshold value in the middle red box). The maximum population of an insect can also be increased. (upper red box)

Per insect you get pD and EXP for each feeding, which you can collect from the expandable cash register. When you have reached the maximum population (including all stages of expansion) of an insect, you'll get a points bonus for a product of your choice.

There is a selection of boosters that allow faster progress.

Of course there is also a leaderboard to compare yourself with other players and challenges where you can win shadowbox items.
