Stuck pretty early. Help? (Bugged?)

Since there's no walkthrough yet, thought it couldn't hurt to ask for pointers here.

I'm at the part at the beginning where Mo is supposed to power up the ship. In the Demo Visual Walkthrough posted to Youtube, they power up the generator thing, plug in the staff, and guide the light to the ship. However, when I try to do the same thing, I can't guide the light to the right. It will go up, down, and left, but not right. Is this...

...a new puzzle added since the demo? (If so, I'm stumped!)
...a game mechanic I don't understand?
...an indication there was something else I'm supposed to do on the island first? (the staff just keeps pointing me here though)
...my game being bugged?

Sounds like a bug to me. The "orb" is supposed to move fluently wherever you direct it to go.

I'm at 17:38 in your video. And yeah, between your video and Sgt. Brown's comment, it looks like my game is bugged. I can't move the energy orb to the right at all, it's like there's an invisible wall stopping it from moving. Thanks for the help, guys.

i had the same thing (at the observatory gate, where we used the staff first), were you able to fix this issue? Would it help if I reinstalled the game?

Same problem! I can't progress because of the same glitch where I can't make the orb move to the right. :((((

hey, I seemingly cannot move the orb to the right to power up the ship (orb goes down/up/left only). I am using keyboard control.

did anyone figured out how to fix the "orb not going right" bug?

Hey, so i kind of found a work-around for the problem. You can turn on the Screen Keyboard and with that, you should be able to move the orb to the right.

The problem seems to bee that the game doesn't register the right key during these power-up momentes with the omni-switch, for whatever reason.

Had the same issue. A Moppelkotz found out, this is likely a problem with some keyboard not allowing S, D and Right-arrow to register at the same time (keyboard ghosting). Using my fancy ass keyboard fixed the problem. But quite an oversight from the developer...

Screen Keyboard worked for me. It's not the worst solution, I suppose. I'd use an XBox controller if I had one.
