Is the feminism grating?
I would like to hope it's just a cute game with role reversal as a gimmick, but I know modern video games can't be made without some kind of political message.

Where does this game fall on the spectrum? Is it overtly political, or is it just toothless and uses gender stereotypes for throwaway gags? Are the girls "strong females," or are they actually developed characters with their own personalities? Is literally every single male in the game either a useless moron or a woman-hating meathead? Is there an incredibly overt theme of "girl power"?

Or is it really honestly just a cute game?

If anything, the game does feminism right by the girls being good, strong characters first then their gender second. There's none of the current day tumblr third wave junk that's got its crosshairs on society.

The storyline is not remotely feminist; you'll understand once you've seen the ending.

I would tell you to just enjoy videogames and stop searching for the slightiest hint of political or gender (in)justice, but if you have this much time to make these kind of threads is obviously that you will not stop, no matter what everybody else would say!
if you see a poitcal agenda in this game, then for you there is, for the rest of us is only video game, a piece of fiction, whose only intention is to give us brainless fun punching pixels, like other game of the same series!

I already finished the game, I unlocked all the achivementes/items/recruit/characters, I already saw both finals had a lot of fun doing so!

and this piece of fiction doesnt change anything about my political views or how I view men or women

I really don't see why there was any point, in this era and this franchise, to turn the distressed damsel trope on its head. A Kunio game with female leads is an innovation so I'm fine with that existing, but that trope is pretty dead and it isn't a regular feature in this series.

Beyond that, I would say no; the feminism is not grating, because in general it hardly exists in this game. I won't spoil the ending, in case you haven't learned of it yet, because it's controversial, but by then, this game seems to imply that all of its major characters, any gender, are some sort of bad people. When no character in canon is "right", they can't really deliver much of a message, unless that message is that nobody is right sometimes, which in a game this goofy, is not what I think they intended.

Leave it to a GaMeR to wonder about the Eldritch Dark God known as "feminism" if there's a female in the game.

Yeah, just ignore every drop of poison because they added a little sweetness to make it easier to swallow. Propaganda is supposed to be fun, no one wants be lectured. People knew this thousands of years ago, but this generation is still completely oblivious.

Please stop spreading lies about this game. It's rude.
The OP may have been a little cranky sounding, but at least he wasn't like you.

This game is by no stretch poison on the minds of anyone.
Also, no one even knew what propaganda was 1000s of years ago. That made me laugh.
Propaganda is much newer than the invention of gunpowder, by the Chinese in the early ADs.
Also, Propaganda has never been fun, so you're not understanding what propaganda is.
