Desert Skies

Developers Gone?
I certainly hope the developers are alright. With no update here for half a year, or even in their twitter since January, I'm afraid something may have happened with them. They'd recently had their first child, if memory serves correctly, yet this long period of silence still feels rather disconcerting.

Even if they've made the decision to drop Desert Skies completely, ghosting the community doesn't seem like something they'd do. I hope I'm not alone in wishing them luck and good fortune in whatever's keeping them from returning so far.

I also hope theyre doing well and nothing serious happened. I really like the game but its frustrating to have no communication/updates that were supposed to be here in 2 weeks since their last post if i remember correctly. Nothing happened afterwards, Im still hoping that they were just too busy and eventually get back to the game and dont let this happen again. Good luck to them.

My two cents? this game is as good as dead. I sincerely believe that we'll never see another update. R.I.P. like many Early Access games nowadays. I am definitely steering away from EA titles lately...

Hi everyone.

We are so sorry for disappearing on you. I have updated our multiplayer thread with the reasons and the details of what we're focusing on at the moment. I will paste it below.

Hi everyone,

We are so sorry for disappearing yet again. Life has been very stressful this year and we've faced a few personal challenges. We are okay and hope you are too.

We are still working on multiplayer and are planning to release it towards the end of the year.
I will update you soon with the details of what will be included in the patch. We are thinking multiplayer and additional enemies to create a more challenging team experience.

Going forward though, the work we have done so far on multiplayer will allow for multiple airships and players splitting to explore the desert and reuniting on the main airship with their loot! This is exciting and is only made possible by Tom's genius in developing multiplayer from scratch. We decided not to use the off the shelf networking systems as they did not suit our needs and didn't fit our vision for the future of our game. This of course meant more work for us and delays in releasing it to you.

Please rest assured we are still here and very much excited about the future.

Kindly yours,
Maddie
