So my question is, IF I ascend first, will my BP's drop?
Unspent AP, capping at 1500 BP (at around 5.5B AP)
I don't really know how better to ask this question so people get what I'm asking. When you ascend, does the number that it says you'll get for BP's drop back down to zero and you have to build them up again? I'm not asking for advice, I just want to know what mechanically happens. I can't find it on the wiki and a google search didn't help. It doesn't look to me like it should drop because of the categories, but that doesn't mean that it won't.
The decision is to rebirth and lose all those AP (which aren't unspent because I don't have them yet), OR ascend, spend the AP, and auto-advance through Mist, then rebirth.
It really depends how quickly you can get back to where you are currently fighting - if you can get back quickly and/or there's something you can get with that AP which would be helpful, then ascend first and keep a few AP for the small bonus BP. If it'll take you a while to get back and there's something really helpful you could get right away with the BP then it might not be worth ascending.
It's easy to overthink it, the first rebirth can seem a bit daunting and deciding when to do it can be a big deal. Ultimately you'll be much further on in a few days either way, and soon be getting AP and BP which dwarf those amounts.
