Underlords is likely to do as poorly as Artifact. There's not much to the game, really, and it's almost as stressful as Artifact.
Auto Chess doesn't play as stressful. Also, Underlords will have a rotation system that switches out heroes to create new metas all the time to keep it fresh. The clear visual style in characters is already a big plus point to distinguish everyone from each other compared to TFT.
Underlords is likely to do as poorly as Artifact? Heck no. No one ever wanted Artifact but many wanted Underlords. There were more than 500k people playing Dota Auto Chess in the same time, imagine a standalone free to play game. Yep, this is gonna get good.
AutoChess, a MOD has 8.5 million subscribers.
TFT is a standalone game its not a 'game mode'
Autochess is huge and unlike artifact its free so will always have a playerbase
In terms of most viewers it will be:
TFT at the top cause riot owns all of the 12 year old LoL players
Underlords at 2nd and probably only 30% of the amount of viewers as TFT
Drodo at the bottom
Hell Underlord took barely anytime to do. It hasn't even been a year yet. So sure there isn't much to the game lol. It's pretty much what you'd call an alpha.
I dunno what ive seen of TFT riot have done a good job adding some twists (albeit fairly minor ones) to the genre that make it more interactive for those precious twitch views (which is what drives games like these)
As much as im enjoying underlords it is basically a slightly reworked auto chess with less stuff atm
I've watched TFT and it just doesn't look like a long term game to me, just a gut feeling.
You may be right, i think the stark reality is both this and TFT will in short order overtake Autochess just cause they have more money driving them and a captive audience on the platforms in question. Granted autochess is there in the dota client but still i think slowly its players will migrate here.
