Even on pioneer, it sent me a ram on the second raid. Cavalry as soon as I built a stable, resulting in 240/376 villagers dead, and my army- and tower count reset to zero again.
The game is quite literally unplayable unless you're willing to min-max and don't care about how formulaic and one-note your towns look.
I am in no way yet prepared for that level of Combat; I am in Tier 3 but don't even have Stables yet, just two Full Barracks with 4 Archers/8 Infantry in each.
So far, they haven't come back, but then again I've been on pause needing to tend to some things outside the game. However, I just popped in for a moment and now a Regular Raid is starting - no Siege Army as far as I can tell.
I think what triggered the Siege Army was hitting 800+ population, which happened just before the notification of their demands. Not sure.
Yes, it's normal. You won't get so many raids with Pioneer setting, but you will get raids.
Raiders on Pioneer Level has given me Raids at least every other year for decades with and Increase in Raid Size each time; I'm currently in Year 126. I'm unsure as to how frequent it would be if Raiders was set to Trailblazer.
Thank You for the advice, I will have to do that. Maybe on my next run I'll get to it much sooner, I'm not sure this current run is going to hold out. I'm in Year 126 and my last Raid (146 Raiders, if I recall correctly) really hit my town hard. I would have only lost about a dozen or so villagers, but I was ticked off so I commissioned batches of my villagers to attack in waves; I have the Relic active that gives +4 Armor to Hide Coats.
Surprisingly, it went better than expected (lost about 150 out of 865), despite the fact that the Raid literally lasted several Months (from mid/late summer to early Spring in the next year). It was an incredibly long duration of time. I had never had a Raid last that long before.
