Game crashes during play
Since I have had the game for over a month now, the game keeps crashing during game play. I've updated my drivers, turned off and on vsync, turned the FR down. Same issue happens and its random. It crashes anywhere from 15 minute of play to 2 hours of play. Is there a fix for this yet.

Apart from the experimental branch I have yet experienced a crash, and the one I had was map related, not an overall issue.

If you visit their forums you will see that crashes actually are rare, so something tells me your system has a flaw.

If you however are completely sure that the game is at fault, you need to visit the Crane forum and provide diaxdlg files along with crash reports. Nothing can be done here.

It crashed for me more than 4 times today too.

LOL it is their game being it is in alpha still. I dont know how the result is always the users hardware when every single game in my library does not have this issue. Ive done every fix imaginable, reinstall unity, DirectX versions, Steam overlay, change refresh rate, vsync off, lower graphics setting. still crashes. I even used the websites suggested method of fixing the problem....the repair.exe program it provides. after i use it (twice now) it straight crashes the computer entirely. Its not the user, its not the hardware, its the game itself being poorly optimized.

The repair utility crashed your system? Or are you saying you used the repair utility and the game crashed your system?

So are these crashes in general sending you to desktop? Or are they shutting down your system?

I came here looking to see if someone was having this issue. I click continue and it completely crashes my system. Like full reboot. that's a SERIOUS problem.

My game now crashes within minutes of gameplay, not even long enough for the game to do a save. I have to do a hard reboot every time.

Same here, since update I get 5-10 mins of playing then it crashes

Same here - I have had the game crash after 25-30 minutes of game play 6 times (which is every time I've played the game... after 6 crashes I gave up).

If your game is crashing (not your system), first steps to try would be to verify game files and make sure drivers are updated. If the issue persists, it is probably generating a Crash Log. These can be found in:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp

This folder may be set to hidden by default in your folder options, so make sure to enable hidden items. Inside this directory, you will find a folder called Crash_Date_Bunch of Numbers (ex. Crash_2022-08-02_171459771.

Could you please send this to support@crateentertainment.com?

Thanks.

If your system is crashing or rebooting, that is a more serious issue that's related to system hardware/drivers/software and the game is triggering the actual problem. if your system is shutting down from a game, please don't disregard it hoping a patch will fix it.

I am also having problems with Farthest Frontier crashing at launch. I actually found this after having problems with Soulstone Survivor Prologue (both Unity). On starting either game, my computer will hard crash, requiring turning my computer off and on.

Strange thing is, if I run the repair tool you suggested above, the game will start fine, but if I exit the game and relaunch, my computer will crash again. I have to run the repair utility again to get it to launch. I am thinking it is maybe something to do with Unity, since non-Unity games all run fine on my computer. I have tried other Unity games too and they work fine. The two I listed are the only ones that seem to be causing issues.

Not sure whats going on. I've tried reinstalling GPU drivers, verifying game files, etc. And seems to keep happening.

My money is on memory being the issue there.

This is most likely a hardware specific issue. I've luckily not had any crashing issues and the only real problems were the hitching(now mostly solved) and poor performance on a large town. Good luck!

this is an incorrect statement. While some issues can be hardware that does not mean that your systems safeties are being triggered by bad code and memory leaks. I find it ironic however that after this post went live there was a patch that had a number of fixes and in among all of that the issue has gone away. If it was a hardware issue it would still persist. hell if it was a hardware issue it would exist in other games as well most likely.

Sounds like his system is not capable of running the game and since he has not posted his system spec's all anyone can do is guess.

I had my first crash yesterday with 0.7.6. The game did run in a sense, but every key on the keyboard acted as pause/play, the GUI disapeared. The graphics of the game was still there and people moving about etc.
