hope this helps someone
It massively complicates accessing your save data. Explaining to someone over a support email how to show hidden folders may as well be sorcery to some people.
1. Go to OneDrive and pause sync for 1 hour.
2. Open the C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\Documents\my games\Farthest Frontier\Save directory. It may also exist inside C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Farthest Frontier.
3. Cut the entire Farthest Frontier folder and move it to:
C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\Saved Games\
4. Make sure no copies of the Frontier folder exist anywhere else.
5. Launch the game.
%userprofile%\saved games is a common directory which is used widely by other games.
many games place their files at this directory:
D:\Users\Pera\Saved Games
CD Projekt Red
Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars
Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars
Cosmoteer
Crysis2
CrysisRemastered
Diablo II
Diablo II Resurrected
Diablo II Resurrected Multiplayer Beta
Diablo II Resurrected Tech Alpha
Farthest Frontier
id Software
Jagged Alliance 3
Metro Exodus
My Games
Quantic Dream
The Last of Us Part I
(Yes, D is my user data drive where users are created and saved. C is operating system only and not allowed for any applications. This is for backup and space reasons.)
I personally prefer the old standard better. So much so that any games that I have which put save data in the appdata folders, which is most new games, get their saves moved to my D:\Users\<name>\Saved Games folder and then I use MKlink to link the appdata location to the location I moved it to so that the games function.
