deep mines spend 80% of time transferring goods?
OK, what am I doing wrong? Do deep mines work differently to standard mines? No matter how many storage options, shelters, etc I build around the deep mines, they all spend most of their time 'transferring goods' and basically mine nothing. I thought it was a one off but they are all doing it, despite the standard mines being just fine in the same area. Am I missing something????

They do operate very differently. The devs have said these are not supposed to be a replacement for the standard mines. The Gold deep mine is almost useless. What I have started doing in the later game when I have a lot of laborers, I will place multiple deep mines on each of the sparkly zones and fill them to the max. That way I do get a fair amount of goods from them.

Oh, that's frustrating! I'll bear it in mind, but I don't ever seem to have lots of labourers...!

That's all the mines. It somehow counts its work as "transferring goods". But they're supposed to be less efficient compared to normal mines because its infinite.

I have shelters, all different types of storage, including a vault and a wagon builder, a well, a full village with markets and manor houses very close by and the mine is full of workers.... yet I'm only mining 12 gold pieces a year?? If that is what is the 'normal' amount then I'm not sure I'll bother using them.

that sounds about right, you might get the occasional 20 per year. That is why I always add multiple deep mines to the spot, when I can. I have to invest heavily in manpower to get a decent amount but as the game progresses you should have the people to put in the mines.

Gold mines are useless. You get far more bang for your buck making Pottery, Baskets, etc and selling them. Less workers used and way more profit. Also upgrade your markets and make sure you have markets covering all housing. Makes a massive difference in income.

If you have 3 gold mines and 4 smelters you can generate something like 800 gold bars per smelter

Not sure how you setup city but you can get good amount of ore if keep mines running at atleast 1/2 work force
having the same issue, deep mines and also the stone quarry are transferring goods like 75-80% of the time and not producing anyting. feels like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to be honest.

Do you have enough wagons to pick up the material often enough they don't have to do it themselves? Also, they may be going back to get food and that's what they're reporting. Do you have a temporary shelter built nearby? I've never seen them work very well, but that is what they are for.

Real houses, market and well, the workers lived in the houses, wagonshop right next to the place and stockyard. Everything was close by but still 75% transferring gods.

That sounds more like a bug. Deep mines aren't as good as a regular mine, but they never run out, so it's good to have around. I still keep the regular mines going for as long as I can, and send out the workers to harvest every rock I see out there.
