Partial good news! After all, the city on the cover screen has angled walls haha
Can I ask why curved walls are probably out? Is it a path finding issue for enemies? Graphical rendering difficulty? Something else? I'm genuinely curious what the problem with them is considering curved walls work great.
1.0 when?:)
Obviously curved things can exist in Frontier, since we have curved roads but, unlike roads, walls have ramifications for pathing and combat that get really tricky (you can't rely on a simple hit box for collisions and combat range anymore as a basic example). I can only imagine the absolutely busted wall designs you guys would come up with if you had curved walls.
Alas, I am not a programmer so I don't know every cost of doing this, but when I broached the subject with the lead programmer, I made him very very sad. Angled walls only made him grimace, so that's more likely.
