What's the effect of using tools?
I tried searching but didn't find any definitive answer. All the game says is that that tools are used for efficiency. Anyone tried and seen its practical effect? And does it really work at all?

Work gets done more quickly if they have tools. Similar to having roads means your villagers move faster and upgraded roads they move faster still. The work will still get done, it will just take a bit longer.

You could play the game forever without roads or tools, it's just not a good idea. LOL

Certain things it doesn't matter too much, but things like mining rocks takes forever with out tools.

Early game shows it's effectiveness pretty clearly.

2 hunters both have their own dedicated deer spots, 45 population. 7 months surplus. Now Tools are used up, no more tools, your people are now starving.

Always buy tools from the trader, if you can't make them yourself yet!

Yeah, I find tools to be pretty important. Especially for tier 3 production buildings.

I tried and observed my gold mines. Without tools they are mining about 55-60 gold max workers. With tools, it's just the same. Maybe there are only select productions that are affected by it.

Sorry I don't understand. If I am currently mining 55-60 gold in 1 year without tools, and you're saying tools make mining faster, how would it not translate to more gold/year?

Is it mine or deep mine? Deep mines use heavy tools and they are required to run the mine.

just ordinary mines. I ended up not bothering with tools for now.

Not sure if it affects mines, definitely other buildins (you will see red icon above the building if workers have no tools and you will notice significant efficiency drop in that building).
