Composters
I've constantly run into a situation where the composter is full. To alleviate this, you need to add another crop field and/or add another composter. Ultimately, you have to add more crop fields to utilize the compost. This, causes an issue where a large number of farmers are needed. Then, when the crops are harvested, you run out of storage space.

There's got to be a better way....

Composters will still collect even when their yards are full.

"Compost Yards now automatically dispose of excess waste, allowing them to continue to collect waste even if all 3 compost storage areas are full."

Any chance you have a loose rule of thumb for yards to population? I had 2 running on a pop of ~600 and I had to add a third as part of town had excess waste build up for a few years. I should note the game was started on main update but I did continue it on hotfix a so not sure if that affected anything.

Had the same issue, was producing a stupid amount of food every year and had to dismantle the compost piles which will allow for poop pickup.

I have 2 farmers and 2 compost pits. And a small town. And too much garbage. The waste is produced too quickly, the pits are full too quickly and the process is too slow. What should I do to ensure that the garbage is removed quickly?
Build another one or two compost yards.

It does`t help. I understood how to use compost, but the buttom "use compost" isn`t active. I meen can see just "awaiting compost" on the farmer. But the compost is alreade ready
Compost yards will apply compost automatically unless you've changed the setting to manual. Compost will only be applied when the next year comes around, that symbol just shows you which field/s it's going to be put on.

What settibgs should be in order to use it automatically? Soil feirtility - more than 70%
It's automatically set in the compost yard. Click on it and you should see Auto Compost under the amounts in the yard. You have a choice of it auto fertilising the fields with lowest fertility, highest fertility or off which means you'd have to put the compost on manually yourself. Default is for it to automatically fertilise the fields with the lowest fertility.
