Population growth
How to speed up population growth?! For now, sometimes my people die from raiders faster than born new people.... just wait for 1-2 people population growth a day (real day 24, not games day)... this is idiotic!!!

Meet their needs. Simple. Not idiotic at all, if you'd bother using your eyes.

It's largely based on food availability and meeting settlement needs. Once you get a school up and running, and you have a steady supply of food, people start immigrating to your village every year, and early on it can be 10+. And with more food, people will get to baby making more, so it's a positive feedback loop. Just gotta keep the food supply abundant or you'll stall growth. I like to get to thresholds like 150 pops and then fine-tune my logistics/supply, bump up to 300 and iron out kinks, etc.

It's not idiotic, you just don't have a strong grasp of the mechanics yet.

it takes a while to start snowballing on growth, because kids eat but dont work. What i do is only build enough houses to meet demand when a group of immigrants arrives, the extra left over space or two is for infants. I keep this up until i get to 150 pop and hit tier 3, then i start building a house a year, plus immigrants. this can take a good 10 years before kids start entering the workforce, so its important to keep your ratio of workers to pop high until you start having kids become grown up, then you can expand in a more organic way. Pop growth is NOT fast in this game.

I have found that having a few extra 'empty' houses around will cause more people to immigrate. If all your houses/shelters are Full, build a few extra and wait a bit.

Immigration also seems to be tied to how much stored Food a town has. If you don't have months of food stored people won't want to immigrate - who can blame them?

If I'm not mistaken, at least 5 or so months of food stored is the minimum to trigger new people to want to immigrate. I don't have en exact value, but check your food volume and keep increasing it; sooner or later they will show up once that is high enough.

I believe it's 6, anyways, the game tells you this at the start of every new game, before you get your first group of newcomers, it ask you to have X amount o free housing and X amount of months in your food storage.
