I'm over here having a minor fit because the farmers keep taking all my grain, while I have an entire upgraded storehouse full of hay sitting literally right next to the barns.
I have to agree with @ungamer on this one...
I think Hay should be used for Cows, Goats, and Horses, but NOT for Chickens. They also should have at least one or two additional food items that they will eat (such as root vegetables, for example).
Chickens should eat Grains, and maybe(?) one or two other harvest-able food item (maybe something that is foraged and/or grown?)
In addition, I would be nice to have an option to limit the amount of each resource the farmers gather so they don't deplete your stores.
So, say, if the cows eat grain, root veggies, and hay, up to a total of 300 units, being able to limit the amount of each up to that total (for ex. 150 hay, 75 root veggies, 75 grain) would be most helpful.
