You can find the Temporary Shelter in the Housing Section just under the Regular (house) Shelter.
and yes, a temp shelter can fix this issue for now.
Yes I'm kind of having to resort to using temporary shelters now to address the issue. It just ruins the town aesthetics and I'm sure the temp housing is meant for faraway places outside of town like a mine because of its architectural design.
I have this issue from time to time in my own town and do have several Temp Shelters in different areas to help mitigate 'death from exposure'.
Also, something I often forget, from time to time it might be a good idea to Pause the Game, then go into your Professions Panel and FIRE everyone from their jobs. Run the game for 10 seconds, then Pause and Refill the Professions list. Supposedly doing this will then assign workers to jobs closer to their homes.
Does it work?
I think it does Something because I've seen a decrease in 'exposure deaths' since doing this 'professions reset' the last time. It is probably time to 'reset professions again' if you start to see an uptick of 'exposure deaths' if you also have plenty of firewood to last the winter.
Nice workaround!! Might work... but at the moment i am unable to open my own game. After trying to load it for 30min i check how much ram it was using. It was at 8gb +
I'll definitely try this.
I'm sorry to hear you're having such issues. Sounds like we both really need the 0.9.3 patch.
Speaking of RAM, I haven't checked in awhile to measure how much RAM is being used when loading the game, but also I've been thinking about VRAM (Video Random Access Memory) and wondering if that is part of the issue.
I have noticed while playing, when bringing up Windows Game Mode screen (WindowsKey+G) in the Performance Box that over 76% of VRAM was in use. For a graphics intensive game, such as FF, I would imagine that this is probably not an outlandish reading; however, I am looking into possibly adjusting my system settings for this soon to see if that helps with Load Times. I really want to wait to start fiddling around until after I see what patch 0.9.3 does, but if I grow impatient, I think adjusting VRAM is my next step to see if that does anything to minimize Load Times.
Here is an article on VRAM that explains what it is and how to adjust it, in case you or anyone else is interested:

Let me know how it works for you. :)
