@Blinxy Yeah the villagers suiciding into enemies is something that still needs fixing. I also try to focus on having 10+ labours more than I need before I create my barracks(soldiers). then only make new soldiers when I get a group of immigration. I start my army when I have around 150 people. Events that maybe allow you to hire mercenaries directly would nice or something like that. Not just waiting for a group of new people.
Thats an easy fix... Turn OFF Autofill in the PEOPLE menu then right at the start of winter you can move all your Farmers and Gatherers into the Laborers/Builders group. Remember at the start of spring to move them back to the original positions.
Devs have already said they're not going to increase the zoom out.
Unfortunately, the most scare resource in the entire game is PLAYER ATTENTION. If you forget to refill your farms and gatherers, it could prove disastrous.
