How to control animals and protect crops!

how to prevent animals from getting out of the Barn and went to crops fields! to eat?
and how to protect crops in general! nothing works for me the animals easily pass through the door! and eat my crops.

Seems to be a bug with cattle as they shouldn't be able to get through fence gates.

Since fencing doesn't work for you, try building the barn as far away from the fields as possible. I built it on the other side of my town AND fenced it and the cows finally stopped eating my crops.

loading save file should help. this is our best tool to fix bugs immediately .
i have never had any problems with fencing.
updated. now in 0.9.1 update i have problems with crazy cows

There is a bug currently in the playtest patch where cows are going through gates when they shouldn't. Zantai said in a forum thread that it should be fixed in the next playtest build.

they eat whatever they can find... even 1 cow can eat 12x12 field full of crops ! had to close barn until it will be fixed

Hi ... Same problem here ... the cows and goats are eating all the crops. I have a fence with gate but they pass through the gate... dies anyone knows when the problem will be solved?

This has been fixed and should be working fine by now. What works for me is I fence both the fields and the grazing area, I even sometimes place the barns inside the grazing area fence and I have no problems. Also make sure you have enough herders to fetch the rogue livestock.

I noticed this too, I simply placed a field with clover in my fenced in grazing area and set my actual fields further away.
If you build it (close) they will come, if ya don't they won't.

Nice its working … I place the barns and grazing aria inside fences and they don't come out any more. thx
