Bad wording on Zan's part.
So really no chance to move on with the same town after the upgrade. That's a pity.
I misunderstood "rerolling"......
Sure there is. Restart the map again and then rebuild the town. Otherwise you can't benefit from the new features like the deep mines, etc.
RESTART option means getting the same map (seed) with the same resources that you are "restarting", except the animals will show up in different amounts and places. This will not include any new updates to the game since you first generated the map.
REROLL is getting a newly generated map with only your basic settings preserved. Basic settings are just the difficulty levels. This is what you do when the game has been updated, however, it will be an entirely new map with a new map seed.
Ah, is that how it works? Then Zantai's wording is correct. My bad.
After an update, if it is a major one, then generating a new map is the best thing. If you find one you like, then you can RESTART it again and again (keeping the same resources) but getting the animals in a different spot each time. This is useful getting those herds of deer close to your starting point.
It's tedious, but it works. When you get lucky you have more deer than you know what to do with. But it can sometimes take quite a few "restarts".
