Just my humble opinion, the map gen should put some willow around any pond/lake.
3 maps, and no willow to be found.

What map type did you use? Some map types got no willow.

willow also grows on fertile (bit swamp looking) grounds not only near lakes, but i agree, willow is a bit to rare like herbs on some seeds as well.

90% of the time even on Vanquisher mode i never make baskets....
No willow
no building
No worker
No problem
or just buy it from the Trade house
