Don't know what you mean by come to a halt when you clothe villagers.

Also make sure you didn't turn off auto upgrading - top right of the screen. Houses won't upgrade if that's off.
The good: It's a beautiful game and a great time waster. Fun take on city builders. Has come a long way since early release started.
The bad: The broken mechanics are REALLY broken, and some of them the Devs - who are often pretty toxic and lame - seem happy to have broken. Better Dev attitude would make for a better game, but it is what it is. Once it hits full release it should be greatly improved, and then modders can take it to its full potential, which there is a lot of in this game.
How can you even get to 1000 pop without the game becoming a slideshow?
Not in Workshop, Nexus most likely.
There's a pretty big difference between being toxic and not taking crap from a**holes. Perhaps one day you'll figure out how to discern the difference.
Aww. Do you need a hug? :(
FPS drops to about 20 by the time I get to 1,000 pop but it's still playable on my desktop. The simulation does start to fail around 800, and you can't count on workers all accomplishing their tasks as well, but it's doable. Hopefully they'll be able to optimize it as time goes on so it runs better.
