Do rats matter in game yet?

Just curious...doesnt seem to have an impact on anything if you have an infestation. Am I missing something or is that an element yet to be added?

Rats will eat your food supplies, so you're losing food to both spoilage and rats.

Well they keep eating your food, and even though it doesn't happen immediately, they spread diseases like the plague so yeah, GET RID OF THEM ASAP

if u dont kill them, plague will spread and all will be sick. but i never experienced that. from screenshot looks like u done if this happened
