This or Kingdoms Reborn?
Why does this game have more players than Kingdoms Reborn? I dont see the appeal.

I played 500 hours on FF and thought a better game than KR. Nah KR is much much better in terms of gameplay, strategy and fun on multiplayer. Somehow KR is only $20, and I already played more than 10x my hours on FF which becomes boring afterwards. So after playing those FF hours i immediately went back to KR. Another option might be Dawn of Man which has almost the same mechanics but harder survival on hardcore.

But just a warning, you will dig more of your best skills if you play higher difficulties on KR. Some players had reach 8000+ population on KR.

Players were just hyped.

Is there combat in Kingdoms Reborn? And what is that 'card system' exactly? Those are the 2 things that put me off of it. I'm not so bothered with multiplayer. But I had a look at it there again, and saw that there are different factions. As bugs above said about higher populations, that in itself is intriguing.

games like this, command and conquer, the original warcraft will forever be doomed to get boring and after a while u stop playing.. Even though you enjoy the initial gameplay, once u get ur town hall to tier 4, nothing comes after. That's the reason why "Blizzard" had to expand upon its original title, warcraft 2 /3, then World of Warcraft... and expansions after that.... Leave it here mr game developer and watch your title die out in a few years... But if you first take it multiplayer and then take it MMO where, you build your town, your friends build theirs, and we as barons team up to take down the King AI, who drops pretty purple items that make our town better!! and then when we pvp, we get to take these items with us and use it against others!!! Or don't listen to me and get a small paycheck... idc ... best of luck

the cards are just buildings you can build, not a big deal really since its so easy to get new cards. Later in the game you get a building with even more cards like different luxury crops for your farms or other perks like % fishing in borean tundra etc, and you can buy which one you want.
Yes there is combat, you buy units and place them in your city or fort and you can go raid with when u buy the raid card.
This game is stuck somewhere with a little team and little money, thats why it takes long time. I think it has potential to be good.

I loved command and conquer, I only played multiplayer. Unfortunately the majority of players do not like multiplayer. Otherwise that would be one of the best games ever.
Age of Empires 2 is still alive just look at most played games on steam and thats a 20 year old game. I took a break from it, might go back if I dont find a good new game soon.

i do not recommend you to buy this game. i have grim dawn, another game from same developers and it is buggy as hell. when i tried to share my experience in steam forums i was bombarded by the people as i call them '' paid crate agents''. these people receive 1 free dlc and in return defend the game in forums for years.

for example, when i asked why the game crashes so much and is there a possible on-going fix about the issue. the paid agents bombarded me, blamed my pc parts, operating system i use, which color i liked, what time i sleep and so many other unnecessary whataboutism responses. however, not even one of them said yeah dude game has crashing problem. one time i asked why the store-stash is so small, this time even zentai (one of the developers) joined to the discussion when paid agents could not come up with an answer, and threatened to ban me from steam forums. there are so many examples like these. just to show you what to expect even with my warning you buy the game. it will remain buggy, they will not accept their end and blame it on you or your pc parts, what type of music you listen, your favorite movie or some other reason.

why i wrote this? for the past couple years, i am sharing my experience during the winter/summer sales to warn the public in steam forums. as you imagine, most of the time these paid agents gang up on me in every topic i write. still it takes 1 spotify song to write this. no worries.

you will know i am right when i get banned from this forum and this comment deleted.

Ah yes, my corrupt schemes have paid off. That's why I apparently threaten someone with a ban instead of silencing them outright to keep the TRUTH from getting out and instead employ a legion of loyal players to spread my lies.

Playing 4d-chess over here.

You sound like a conspiracy theorist with a touch of narcissism, no one is going to take you seriously. People, (such as you) who take up these crazy vendetta's against games and game developers only make themselves (you) look kind of nuts. You have GOT to have something better to do with your spare time, other than write (grammatically atrocious) paragraphs depicting why other people should be against a game or developer, because you personally don't enjoy it/them. Truthfully, game crashes can range from a WIDE ARRAY of things, and yes, your hardware and/or software (other software/bloatware on your pc) can play a role in that. Just because you do not like the answer provided, does not mean you were not given a proper answer... and this business about paid agents... Again.... Just a really odd flex...

I don't know about paid agents, but Crate got some loyal fanboys that will defend FF shortcomings like their own mama.

Anyway, Kingdoms Reborn is a bit different from this game, more original IMO but I enjoy this one more. Cant put my finger on it but as far as city builders go, it's really good.

What bugs by the way? You harp on there about bugs, do enlighten me as to what bugs you've experienced? Cos I bought the game 10 days ago and have..... way too many hours to publicly acknowledge for reasons of absolute shame, and I've actually not encountered any bugs yet.

Wait, that's not true. I did put an arborist field close to a mountain, and after some time I go back and see a complete graveyard there. Turns out they were getting stuck due to some pathing glitch because the trees were so close to the hill that I thought I had flattened enough and were actually starving to death. Think i lost about a dozen villagers before I realised. Though not too sure if that classifies as a bug or just poor planning on my part..........

I like how you can build all across the map and not be tied to the town center from the videos I have watched of kr but meh no combat and its not as in depth as this game from what I have witnessed. Not a bad game but not as good as this one to me plus the graphics are a bit cartoony.

I have faith this game will be expanded before the ea ends and there will be dlc expansions to look forward to.
