We doubled the number of grocers in v0.8.1.
Saints "Preserve Us"
To be fair, it is a savegame carried over from 0.75f or something.
IMHO in 0.8.1 the 2 workers which can be assigned to a market (still) do not manage to provide their market with products but are most of the time busy to deliver goods and having their leisure time. For instance, I have a root cellar which is filled for 90% with different products but the market immediately next to it only offers a bit of raw meat as food. But maybe I do not fully understand yet the task of markets in this game.
Yes. So I find it somewhat hard to understand the purpose of markets in this game (other than invisibly collecting taxes). The 2 grocers are merely carriers transporting goods between storage buildings and houses and nobody seems to visit markets to buy something there. So I'm not sure why products offered at markets are necessary at all? (where they spoil quickly indeed).
BTW, because I'm new to this game, I'm also still a bit unsure whether root cellars and other storage buildings should be located inside the 'market radius' or not. My observations regarding this question seem to be somewhat contradictory. How do you do this?
In my experience, you don't need to have your root cellars or storage within market radius. I usually place all my storage buildings in one place near the trade center, the town center and walled in. This way, trade is efficient, raiders can't steal and town center can clean them up. Also markets or houses don't have to run everywhere to get their stuff.
