Market still not working?
Played a couple hours with 8.0. Market still does not seem to be working. I have almost 1k of smoked meat/fish; fruit/veg preserves too, but there never show up in the market. 50 herbs, but never in the market either. I tried moving some buildings as close to market as I could, but that does not seem to help.

I have the same issue and don't understand why my market isn't stocking items either. It's close to the producers and not near full, has houses that are large homes and still having food issues and markets are empty. I just don't get it.

Ya, big bug. Not a peep about it so far. Maybe they need a couple more worker slots for the Market. Two does not seem anywhere enough.

Never had any issues with the market. Are you placing your buildings correctly?

I think my buildings are placed well. Markets are in center of housing and just on the outside are the things like bakery, cheese maker, preserverists etc. Market isn't stocking anything and even when I tell it to NOT stock something it still seems to. I don't know if this is a pathing issue or 1 market for range isn't really enough.

I notice the same problem. Did you find a solution in the meantime?

What usually ended up happening in v0.8.0 was the grocers would spend most of their time making home deliveries and had very little time to actually stockpile anything in the markets.

We doubled the number of grocers in v0.8.1.

Hey Zantai: I tried several things with the market; a couple hours worth, and they are still not doing their job even with double workers. I have like 600 vegetable and fruit preserves and they just refuse to get those. I tried moving the buildings around, and even putting them literally at as close as possible, but still nothing :(. Are you sure they are not on Strike?

Yeah can confirm this.

To be fair, it is a savegame carried over from 0.75f or something.

IMHO in 0.8.1 the 2 workers which can be assigned to a market (still) do not manage to provide their market with products but are most of the time busy to deliver goods and having their leisure time. For instance, I have a root cellar which is filled for 90% with different products but the market immediately next to it only offers a bit of raw meat as food. But maybe I do not fully understand yet the task of markets in this game.

food spoils so fast in the market anyway, almost no point in using it at all. i keep food in cellars and nowhere else

Yes. So I find it somewhat hard to understand the purpose of markets in this game (other than invisibly collecting taxes). The 2 grocers are merely carriers transporting goods between storage buildings and houses and nobody seems to visit markets to buy something there. So I'm not sure why products offered at markets are necessary at all? (where they spoil quickly indeed).

BTW, because I'm new to this game, I'm also still a bit unsure whether root cellars and other storage buildings should be located inside the 'market radius' or not. My observations regarding this question seem to be somewhat contradictory. How do you do this?

i have the same problem with hunters, meat and starvation, i just lost 45 population in one winter, there should be an upgrade to the wagon shop in tier 2, a pushcart builder is something missing from the game, baskets help just a bit, also road upgrades, but that IS tier 3, an inbetween road upgrade in tier 2 would be nice, in tier 2 we need something other than just balancing labor workers and builders, inbetween upgrades for baskets and roads, AND a pushkartbuilder added to the wagon shop might just do the trick. but for meat abundance, farming cows is the ultimate answer, placing orders for cows with merchants or at the Barn could solve a lot. instead of waiting for a merchant who sells them

In my experience, you don't need to have your root cellars or storage within market radius. I usually place all my storage buildings in one place near the trade center, the town center and walled in. This way, trade is efficient, raiders can't steal and town center can clean them up. Also markets or houses don't have to run everywhere to get their stuff.
