Dunno where you think you heard that but.. no. You cannot do any such thing without mods.

However, I'm guessing that setting up mods via Nexus for FF might currently be above your paygrade - it requires a little extra "work". WeMods trainer might be more your speed.

If you use any mods please keep such in mind before you decide to post about or report bugs. It would be bad form to do such when dirtying things up with mods.
Nah I hate mods for the most part, always plays games in their intended developed state! thanks for the answer though! Guess Ill pass on this one sadly.
That works for this game?
The more realistic problem might be the resource nodes of clay/ sand, etc.
I've already wrote an idea about it; just make nodes (or nodes over a certain size) slowly recover their resources based on either their max initial amount or the amount missing from them, like 0.1% of max is recovered every month or 0.2% of missing resources recover every month, so for a 16k clay deposit, it'll be a 16/32 clay / month recovery.
The % can be adjusted if there's a balance issue any time.
This way, the map generation will still give a bit of a natural limitation and you won't need resource spawn mods to have a theoretical infinite playthrough.
You can still trade, overuse the recovery of resources, have missing resources, etc.
Yeah see, I play games to escape reality and not have to deal with reality. Video games are for multiple different play-styles and people. Sounds like you prefer realism vs me who like it in small doses. I dont want to micromanage food. Thats annoying. To each their own
In light of that assertion it pays to keep in mind that one FF's major 'selling' points is specifically about the depth of the crop system, and thus, food.
But who knows, perhaps by release they'll slip in a "creative" type mode for those that just want chill.

It is a bit odd, given your desire to zone out or whatever, that you seem repulsed by mods, seeing as how they are the very thing that would easily give you exactly what you desire.
Despite that, the devs haven't actually opened the game up to modding yet. All current mods are merely injection hacks taking advantage of the Unity engines ability to be easily modded in this fashion.
Crate will likely open up official modding support sometime before or after early access ends.
Yeah I know its a bit odd lol I agree xD I just dont like mods as some have to work a certain way and you have to keep them updated or update files, etc. Its a lot of work. I just want to plug and play kinda deal and not have to worry about any of that stuff xD
Some games I do have mods for like empire total war with the darth mods but other than that I play all games vanilla!
I might just suck it up and just deal with the food stuff but Im still browsing for a good city builder
This is a super casual game at the lowest difficulty levels even with the raid mechanic and there are specific settings to make it even more casual. The first few towns you start up can be a bit of a pain till you figure out the mechanics and build order but once you get the hang of it then food spoilage is just another number you don't really care about.
If you do buy the game then this seed more or less gives you effectively infinite resources there is so much scattered around the map.
