- there's an old saying, cleanliness is next to godliness. pull the computer apart, clean all the fan blades, blow it out with compressed air, and wipe down the casing.
- move the computer to a high air movement area, like on top of the desk. if it's on carpet under your desk, you have already failed.
- definitely replace the heat sink material . not hard or expensive to do.
- pull and reconnect all the cables to make sure you have good connections at each terminal
- i have a relatively slow computer, I7 9700, RTX 1650 and i don't overheat in this game . I turn everything down 30 fps, no vsync, 60 hz, etc.
- if all else fails, just do the nuclear option. Take off the side panel, get a 20" box fan, turn it on speed 3 and get yourself a set of noise cancelling headphones.
What branding? No 3090 should be running hot due to the insane cooler they typically mount. My 3080 even before I did the tweaks still wasn't breaking 70c and thats nothing for a gpu.
What temp is it getting to? Looked up some reviews and under max load it shouldn't be breaking much over 70~80c if the fan profile is aggressive and that was under heavy synthetic testing which is way more demanding than gaming.
