My farmers do everything except farm
I marked one of the crop fields priority. Nothing else in the game is priority. I have maxed out farmers.

Still they do everything except farm/tiling. They stand around idling, they gather bee and wax stuff, they stock pile, etc. Everything except work on the crop field with priority.
Yes I got workers and builders.

I just want the farmers to, like, farm.

I think you need to fill up the farming queue, like a different crop in each of the 3 slots. I just started farming also, and they werent doing anything until I selected tasks for each "rotation."

I grew up on a farm and there is a whole lot of nothing to do some days and more stuff to do than you can keep up with others. It all depends on what part of the season it is and how far along your crops are. Now I did notice that ~before~ the land was fully cleared and tilled ready for the very first crop it took a bit for them to wander over and do that initial clearing. But once its up and running and you have three years of rotation dialed in with the proper crops planted at the right part of the season with the right soil composition it more or less takes care of itself.

Did you setup a crop rotation?

Looks like the hotfix addressed this.

~Fixed a crop field worker count issue that could result in excess or even negative farmer counts.~

I think the hotfix may have actually caused this. I was affected by the negative count bug but my farmers never failed to plant before. I just tried playing the hotfix version and now the negative count bug is fixed but the farmers do nothing. They've failed to start planting for the second year in a row now and that never happen before. I even tried manually moving the farmers on top of the field and they just idle instead of planting.

What state does it say the farmers are in when you select them?

My farmers are doing the same - they aren't planting the fields (showing as "failed to begin planting" on almost all of them). They seem to show as "Wandering - Unable to Work"

I was just looking for answers to this. Mine do the same failed to plant. Zantai you guys need to make a video on farming. I like the complexity but its just confusing atm.

Mine were working before the patch, just stopped doing it this evening

Mine also says "Wandering - Unable to work"

This just happened in my current play through. I had 4 5x5 farms with 4 farmers and crop rotations. The farmers stopped working (Unable to work). I had to remove all crop rotations and create new ones for them to start planting again. I had them all start with maintenance for first rotation (if that matters)

I think there are several such issues in different areas.
For example i had enough workers to fill an empty slot of a building that had a worker die before.
So basically raiders killed a guy, his workspace became "unfilled". It would not fill up by itself no matter what.
I had to reduce the workslot by one (pressing - button) and then add that slot back again and it was instantly filled.

Maybe its a similar issue, where you have to close somthing or take all workers off and then reassign them or removing all crops in the rotation list and get in some new.

Could you please send the save to support@crateentertainment.com?

Saves are located in:
C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\my games\Farthest Frontier\Save

Zip up the entire TownName_###### folder along with the .map file and .sav that reproduces the issue.

Thanks!

This fixed it for me too.

Was able to repro the issue with the save that was sent just now. So we'll be looking into the cause asap.
