Do I need to mine coal?

I have gotten a few maps in a row without any coal? Is that something I should worry about or can I buy coal?

One of the resource buildings says it burns wood to make charcoal, as a substitute for coal, have you looked at that?

No clue, haven't gotten that far myself, wasn't sure if you even knew about the building was all.

You can either use the charcoal making building if your supply of wood is pretty good or you can trade for coal.

May not be on your map. They don't have all the resources available, only some depending on the map you're playing. Again, if you don't have any you'll have to trade for it.
