Silver/Iron/Heavy Tools

I'm wondering what strategies you've all found that work well with Silver. I feel like this particular resource is a struggle; It seems like forever to create a bar; hence creating heavy tools takes forever.. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

It seems that heavy tools are bugged and are not transferred to general storage, so their production stops. I set my trading centre to automatically collect them and once in 3-4 years (or when buildings need them) I just transfer them back.

Yeah heavy tools are only ever taken from the forge when a building needs one so having the trade post collect them to then transfer back into general stock is the current workaround. However heavy tools break at a very slow rate so only having two on hand in the forge stock is usually enough to keep your buildings running until a new set is produced.

I don't bother producing iron and tools. Too much labor for its rate of production so I just buy all of them at the trader

The only way I was able to move newly created heavy tools to a building that needs them is to destroy the building and re-build it. Once you do that, the people will take the heavy tool from the settlement inventory... and only then....

They are bugged. You can move them to the trading post and once they are delivered move them to the common storage. This will make them available for use.
