While in general it should be possible to get the confidence goals right away - you can always do them one by one or later after getting the perks that would give you an edge.
For Dall's - get the Friendly Swap perk as soon as possible. It allows you to swap with firendllies without spending mana - pretty much endlessly.
And that includes Zan's False Prophets.
This makes positioning pretty much effortless.
Rampage II refunds your action after every successful charge. Meaning that with proper preparation you can get endless damage on 1 turn.
For Banks it's very important to get the Genius Grant for the transfer.
That refunds it in cases when you transfer damage between enemies.
Zan's Persistent Delusion upgrade for False Prophet refunds the mana if the clone is destroyed. Very useful. Actually every upgrade for it is useful.
Dall's Charge II + Zan's Persistent Delusion + Banks Genius grant allow you to relatively easily set up an infinite damage engine that can pass both damage and knockback to any enemy on the map.
Basically - line up a charge for Dall. Transfer damage from that enemy to someone else.
Charge. Summon Zan's clone on the straight line back from Dall so she could return. Charge Dall back, refunding the clone mana cost and repeat until the map is empty.
Often once you have figured out the trick to completing the level it's quite easy to see how to vary that trick to get the confidence goal, but not always.
In general the confidence goals require particular talents. Generally it's those that refund your action or mana and allow you to keep on acting. For Dall it's rampage II and friendly swap.
And related to this, if you do let it go the first time around and finish the story... at that point you have unlimited perk refunds and can thus tailor your builds to meet specific confidence goals without fear of locking yourself into a bad combination of abilities.
