Ending and spoilers - what happened with Liv?
What's her full story, is she really just a sad broken person thinking she can bring about world peace, living on a borrowed time? I mean, that's kind of too basic, no? Is there another bottom to this I haven't seen?

What happened is that she got a hot dose of .357 poisoning to the head, and I respect the hell out of the devs to let me keep that ending and not do the cliche thing of 'saving her'... That said I did replay the ending level again to see the other outcome and I agree that if you let her live it's a little unsatisfying that there's no real conclusion

Exactly my point, kudos for providing some agency to the player in terms of the choices they can make in the finale, but without a proper conclusion they seem a tad bit superficial. Still, overall an amazing experience. I just wanted some more depth, I guess, since the developers have shown they know how to do it. Hopefully their next game is more story-heavy, not just mechanics heavy.

First of all, the endings are essentially just Banks reviving Liv so she can serve her time in prison (potentially for the rest of her very limited life) or refusing to do so, making her stay dead.
As a person? Honestly, I think the fact that she is the reason Reactor's plan shifted from "attain political sway in Medil by installing a puppet government in order to get access to the mana mines" to "just take over the whole damn country while robbing everyone else of any possible ways of fighting back against an army of craft-empowered soldiers" says enough about her character when combined with the intro mission.
Liv Kennedy has always been a bastard. Reactor definitely enabled her to become a global threat, she may have been embittered further by her, what, six-month imprisonment, I believe? But she was always the kind of person to believe herself to be better than everyone else and to know better than everyone else. Note how in her bio, her favorite activities are competitions she is guaranteed to win thanks to her craft.

Honestly, Liv is too dangerous to let Live. Not to mention that she didn't have any reservations about murdering everyone but Zan earlier.

Before her defeat, she was less sad and more mad. Corrupted by her own power after getting juiced up all the time and without the doctor to reset the effect even worse, I would assume.

For me she was also too dangerous to let her live. Also kind of the weak point in the story: Did she expect Banks to be really death because of the death door? Felt a bit careless to just let them be dead, when she knows somebody has the ability to ressurrect them.

With regards to the spoiler, *does* she know that? She knew that Banks could bring back the dead because that was literally the job that Banks was doing at the time. When it comes to her other abilities, why would Banks ever reveal that she could do that?

During that 'slaughter' mission, I always thought an additional mandatory requirement would have been to Death's Door Banks while out of line of sight of Liv.

Even if she didn't know of the ability before, seeing it happen in front of her ought to have roused suspicion.

That is fair. It's probably more plausible if Liv is the one to push Banks into it at least, which I believe was a confidence goal.

I recall a conversation somewhere, but I don't recall exactly when, in which Liv explains how the Reactor CEO is a true visionary and so on. Came across like she really bought it and became a true believer. So yeah, while Liv might have spurred Reactor to a more militant/agressive stance, I feel like the world domination thing was always there. It's just a megalomaniacal ambition that became possible with Liv on their side.

Banks used the ability countless times during missions and the group does not kill, so we can assume the 'death door' released victims unharmed after the fight. If the 'death door' does not cause amnesia, the victims of it are likely to talk about their experience?
