How do I change the orientation of the map?

I'm trying to create a docklands scene with warehouses and a river. But the default map shows the river in the foregorund and I want to reorient it so that I'm looking out from the tenements overlooking to river and the warehouses lining its bank. But i can't find anyway to reorient the map.

Also where are the roads hiding in the menu. This is a urban city scene so I don;t need plants and animals except a few rats and cats perhaps.

Ok! I've worked it out/

It's the Right Mouse Button. It's still fiddly to get it oriented the way you want it but I got there in the end.
