There are often wrongly exported models so make sure that
1. the textures are named the same in the mtl file
2. sometimes there is a path with spaces, remove the path
3. make sure everything is in the same folder
if that fails, download blender, import, export and that should fix any issues
hope that helps
To be fair though, depending on what you try to import, they might need manually checking each time anyway. For example I'm importing ancient burial site scans from drones etc and many of them have zero texture applied from a top down view as I need them to be viewed from. This isn't a missing .mtl reference some models have no textures and gaps in certain areas and things.
I've successfully imported up to 400mb scans into FlowScape so far, probably some over 700mb I can't clarify this exact moment. I've also noticed that upon import sometimes my imports won't show in FlowScape at all on either ortho top down or 3D views. This again seems to depend on the way the .obj was originally formatted.
What I do on import is click the XYZ buttons at least 4 times each in turn and usually, assuming the .obj is correct, my file will show up in some form, you do however have to wait an unspecified amount of time for the import to load obviously. Often I'll see a randomly angled orange line, a random part of my imported object, which I can then grab and rotate within FlowScape which I then drag upwards and make it angled normally and things for painting on in FlowScape.
I thought at first that many of my large landscape .obj imports weren't working at all until I realised that by clicking the XYZ import buttons once it's finished importing it will reveal my missing import as an object at some random angle which I can then work with normally in FlowScape and draw on with trees and plants, rocks etc.
Hope this makes sense, FlowScape is amazing and the Dev is constantly listening to users and updating it!
Thanks for your suggestions and helping out!
a few issues ive fixed with not seeing anything. 1. the model wasnt saved in 0.0.0 and is floating really high in the sky.
If you cant find it then try adding Tr 0 which means transparency to the mtl
some objects needed that extra line to show up
All saved projects open fine as long as I'm on ortho view I'm pleased to report. Doesn't bother me personally as I knew enough about software dev to work out why it was happening quickly but just thinking other folks might see this and panic about their project saves thereby giving you extra replies and topics you might be able to save time on :)
EDIT - Also, once initially opened in ortho view, as in open FS and press O, then open saved project, all project saves switch between 3D and ortho perfectly as they should.
