Record videos?

Based on a recent reddit thread, I was under the impression that you could render videos of your scenes (which would result in great otho battlemaps for the mroe advanced tabletops out there) but I fear I was missinformed.

Is there some free or cheap capture software one would recommend to do it the less optimal way?

Yes, you can use OBS or if you have an Nvidia card enable ShadowPlay to record.

I did try some of my own video encoding, but it was slow and horrible, cant compete with dedicated recording software written by many devs

Can confirm: Recording with Nvidia's ShadowPlay is very easy and works great!

Also, just hit <space> to hide the UI.

I use shadowplay to record everything you see on the store. its so good quality with hardly any overhead 10/10
