Multiplayer Guide. -Current feature list, -Roadmap.
The guide is linked below in the first comment.
Keep in mind this is still mainly a single player game with multiplayer being recently added as a new feature. But the basics are here :)

Most features are still planned, so don't see it as feature complete at all but it proves the concept.

If something is missing or amiss feel free to report it or make a suggestion.


As of yet you can:

-Host a P2P session visible to your friends with the Multiplayer Beacon
-Sync up to your hosting friend with the Multiplayer Sync Chip
-Travel together through time, each one using his own time machine, or as passenger in your friends car.
-Visit each others safe houses.
-Visiting space together via dimension gate
-Exchange items (dropping them so someone else can pick em up)
-Ranged combat (epa and any ranged weapon)
-Play Emotes on the Numpad
-You are able to play the story together, if you are at the same progress and quest at the same time, however at present only spawned enemies will sync up
-Retroactively make your friends items disappear from his inventory if he dropped it in the past and you manage to get it from one of his past versions in the past

Definitely planned:
-public p2p sessions
-melee (sword combat)
-synced up furniture use like the arcade or drums in the safe house
-having an animation when pulling up the plc with the corresponding ui color
-controlling the other players car (doing an owner switch)
-full syncing of quest relevant events
-synced Citizen
-synced Car Items (inserted fuel etc.)
-better overall performance for sessions with many players

I could see if I could somehow scan for players online that play and are in session if they use a "public" beacon so to speak.

But to be technical here, there actually are no servers in p2p. The connection is handled completely over the Steamworks p2p layer. So all I would have to know is if I could display connections publicly.
