Is the game more difficult now?
I played through once. It was pretty easy, on easy mode. So, I restarted with the blue team. I tried average difficulty. It was way too difficult. My gladiators kept getting wiped out. Never had enough gold. Everything was a huge struggle. Not fun, so I started over again without even winning all of the arenas. My gladiators were all level 10 and under. So, I started a third time, blue team again, on easy mode. It still seems much more difficult than my first run through. There are more options; more types of gladiators and items, which is good. But man is it difficult!

The early game is meant to be hard, but once you start gearing up your dudes you'll start to steam roll most higher level enemies if your tactics are good.

Fire mage (glass cannon/area damage) + Knight (tank) + Berserker (hard hitting/versatile fighter) is a good early game party, try it.

If you want it to be easy get knights and archers, choose the "healthy and powerful" attribute and just pump all points into hp. Use items to get some points into int (enough to minimize cooldown).

We increased difficulty for normal game a little bit. About 10%. But easy mode remained same. We could add additional mode that is easier that Easy. I'll write that down.

We're planing to make some change with gladiator house upgrades. So that they do not give you item slots on gladiators. Gladiators would unlock those automatically as they reach higher levels. This way it should balance difficulty a little bit, encourage you to try new gladiators (since they will have more slots if they are higher level. Unlike now, when your first gladiators have upgraded buildings and have huge advantage over new ones you unlock).

And yeah, we need to nerf that "healthy and powerful" quirk. It became a meme on our discord already :steamhappy::steamfacepalm:

make 'hell' mode normal. everything else isn't even worth it right now with the amount of content it has. Hell mode is challenging and makes you explore the game a lot more, try out different approaches and gladiator formations. It's the mode people should be supposed to play.

Some traits can really make the class.

My first try I had a berserker, felt like it was kinda ♥♥♥♥, melee, died too easily.
2nd game I got one with the old vampire perk, now that's a different class, due to it's high damage it often gets kills, and that's a big heal to the mountain of HP I gave him, he is now a true beast that can't be defeated unless I put him against a bunch of snares or something, as long as he's in combat killing stuff he won't die and he hits like a truck.

I find normal to be slow with money in the beg of the game. When my guys were level 10 the game became very easy then. I feel level 15+ I can beat the game easy. I keep checking back to see what is new. I only make one unit each. I always have different units in the end of the game. I am ready for hard mode.
