Game won't start if I apply the latest patch.

As posted... press to start game and it pops up failed to start game app already running. Only way to play this for me is with no patches installed at all, and in that case it doesn't let you connect to GFWL lol.

ANy ideas?

When you launch the game (with last patch) open task manager and find the UAW launcher and close it. Then try again.

How can you run a steam game without a patch? Steam auto patches all games to their latest version. Unless its a 3rd party patch ?

yes, after the auto-patch, it doesn't start any more, anyone with any luck starting it again through the steam installer?

Well, I download patches only though Games For Widnows Live, and Steam has nothing to do with patches. Sometimes GFWL only installs 2 patches, some times 1, sometimes 3.

Found a possible solution(It worked for me), Same thing happened to me, so I tried booting it up from the .exe file in the games folder(steam/steamapps/common/Universe at war). That didn't work, said it was missing some Xlive thing. I looked in Xliveredist, and ran the Xliveredist01.0241.00 Installer.

Retried launching from steam and it worked; hope this helps.
