Building as standard single target heat DPS with arc rifle 2 with 2 tanking melee castelans is pretty viable imo as I was going with it during weekend.
Melee builds sadly will never work on tech adept as he deals too low single target damage and his AoE skills on II melee weapons are just bad(tried during weekend as well, melee was fun tho, but again, lack of mitigation and damage didn't helped).
I'm 55 and focusing on self damage with crit/physical damage and using the radium rifle 2 and focusing on the no.1 so I can pick off heavy armored targets with ease. I use 2 robots with the aoe shock and fists I didn't bother getting the alt weapons since they tend to stay out of melee most of the time for some reason when you use them and I just use the bots as cannon fodder and cc/aoe with the shock skill honestly it's working very well for +7 level missions so far you can easily stack vulerability with the right click on the radium rifle then plink the mobs with the left click for upwards of 30-40k depending on how many concussive trauma and vulerability stacks you have. If you get the -% damage done by mobs affected by vulerability you can easily let the bots tank for you vs heavy armored targets.
The issue with my build is since the bots are 50% reserve each while it gives me +50% self damage it has issues now allowing me to use my armor skill to redirect damage to my bots since I use the heavy armor and digital weapons. Honestly though I've had acceptable results with both builds even without being able to use the armor skill. I am using the +50% damage vs debuffed, +5% damage per 2% dataflux missing and the +20% damage and 30% clip size for physical weapons. The rest of my points from here on are just going to go to buffing up my survival and buffing the bots survival so that they can tank longer before being disabled.
*edit*
Oh and a "fun" little 5 turret build uses high health regen with the perk that converts the regen into class resource and gives the turrets +30% damage 20 sec after being called in and you just run around like a chicken with your head cut off dropping turrets...... Not going to lie the results with that build is actually much better than it sounds as long as you mix and match the turrets a bit so that you have all damage types.
It's honestly a very strange build though I wouldn't recommend it for anything past +5
- Get Thechnomartyr Gridle belt,Technomartyr Vestement, and Arc Rifle 1/Radium Rifle 1, or any axes thats has 3 summon slots.
- Take 5 Vivsects in every summon slot.( total 20 units. 5 * 4 per pack with perk )
- Take Vivisect Self Destruct skill from Construct ability skill tree.
- Raise Mindlink to 15 to get 5 Data-Flux back on vivisect self destruct.
- Take Vivisect Air Assault Skill from Construct ability skill tree.
- Get Relentless Constructs from Construct ability skill tree.
- Get all Cooldown reduction and Cost reduction passives from Construct Specialization tree.
- Take Left Bottom and Right Bottom part of Support Tree for Cooldown/Data-Flux.
- Get Might of Legio and Electro Kinetic Boost from Construct Offense Tree.
- Get Mechasapient perk for 4 Vivisect per pack.
- Get Omniscient Construct Perk for more damage.
- Get Synod Of Machine God Perk for more damage.
- Spam all 5 Vivesect Summon for self-destruct --- or better make a macro for Mouse/Keyboard that Press All 5 skill buttons in cycles on single press. This is important part and what makes this build comfortable to play.
Rest points put wherever you want, i went into HP/Defence/Movement tree. (Right part of movement tree doesnt seem to lower CD for Construct Summon skills for some reason.)
I am currently cheesing through content at lvl 60+ with missions that are 5-6 level higher.
Just for the record I'm level 85 TA and I can easy do +8 mission, probably +10 or more if I want to bother. You can get weapons and armor that apply various vulnerabilities on hit or crit and my pets just kill stuff easy anyway.
I'm not even a min-maxer, just play for fun. People that complain about the class here is a tip: PEBKAC!
Check them out, they updated the game a few days ago and a lot of constructs got massive buffs...
