Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition

General discussion of the game. Original title: "Hard mode worth it?"
Does anyone know if Hard mode gives you anything extra? Apparently there's a 50% yen increase as battle rewards? Doesn't seem like it's worth the grind though, the scaling of this game isn't well designed to begin with.

While I'm at it. For the 5 NX Digimon, if I "absorb" them, can I somehow get them back? My hunch is no. I've put them as builders in the farm for the time being.

Honestly no. Especially on Hacker's Memory where alot of the bosses are level 99. If u need money(which u won't) but if u do, run 1 or 2 Gold Numemon(I think thats the one). Somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

I never needed since grinding up a powerful team of difficult to obtain Megas and getting 3 Platinum Numemon with 3 tactician usb's gave me plenty of money anyways.

Also I am fairly certain no on the DX Digimon. U get them one time as a bonus and u cannot obtain anymore.

I believe Blackking is better for money?

And yeah, there's a few one-time items that you shouldn't sell either.

Having played both stories on hard, no. Simply because any offense centered mon without a piercing attack is bad.
You will have an easy time during the story, however DLC content will still be a challenge.
DLC content on hard difficulty introduces cheese mechanics. Not that fun if you ask me.

Hard mode only feels hard at the start of the game when you only have 1 mon, enemies do hit you kinda hard and you can get game overs real fast. But once you get 3 mons, it becomes the same as the normal difficulty, especially with piercers being broken. And you don't really need money at all to justify it, however i do recommend hard mode, it's pretty fun. And if you absorb a digimon you can never get it back, NX digimons are useless, just absorb them to lvl up your main mon faster, or just put them in the farm and turn them to builders for the tactician usb strategy

Don't do this. The amount of experience u get from absorbing is next to meaningless. U could absorb all of them with a Champion and get to maybe level 25. By extension u can have 2 Platinum Numemon with Tactitian USB's and after battling one team of Champions u can boost level 1 Mega to level 45-50 in one battle. Use Etemon. He needs the least amount of Exp and the Tactician USB's are definitely useful and help, but the Platinum Numemons exp boost is more important. While they aren't power houses, they aren't worthless either.

Also Hard really only makes battle take longer on Cyber Sleuth. Its only hard when battling the 7 and in Hacker's memory where the enemies are much stronger. I agree with Mythlily. Its just not fun.

fun fact, if you turn the NX back into data, and you rehatch them, their "talent" stat is 0 instead of 200. I was wondering if the devs thought of this so I tested it.
absolutely. on normal mode, every single fight is an absolute cake walk where you 1 shot everything on the field as soon as the fight begins, bosses included.

The playthru I did on PS4, I didn't really want to do a bunch of de-genning so I mainly just used what I could without a bunch of extra grinding while playing normal. Combat was good and sometimes challenging.

On switch, I went the min/max route on hard, aiming to get some strong high-end mon. I didn't even finish because the game was so boring.
Did the Complete Edition add more ways to get that 100% Penetration block item?

Penetration block item? I didn't know there was one. There is multiple DEF boosting blocks and what not. Jesmon has a technique that can block 100% of all dmg for a turn. There is also those damage reflecting buffs. I forgot what they are called but there are 2 of them. Essentially they are abilities which apply to a single Digimon and any time they take either physical or mental dmg they reflect it back. I think Mirror Reflection is the name of the intelligence based one.

Yes if you want the game to be a bit more harder and you would need to think more in advance for battle and grind, cause some fight are rought but fun, normal was way to easy and felt to dull.

I din't reach hacker memory but when i do will also play it on hard mode to see how it go =)

They aren't worth using though cuz you still take damage anyways.
I didn't mind hard mode for story content cuz it made you use equipment for some fights. DLC content on hard though... not very fun. It's either Jesmon cheese or mastemon+piercing mons.

you do know that you can max out any digimons stats with about half an hour of grinding, right? once youre far enough in the game, you can just spam digivolve/devolve literally after 1-2 fights, racking up tons of stat points in every stat. in the end, it dosent matter what digimon you use as long as youre actually raising them correctly. ideally, you should be digivolving as soon as its an option, then devolving when the requirements are either too high a level to reach in a single dungeon, or too high in stat values.

edit: for example, im currently running around in the very early game of a new save with level 20-30 mons who each have several thousand HP, and over 400 in every stat, from abusing the silver arena fights to quickly grind out enough XP to evolve, then devolving, then repeating over and over. late game it becomes much easier, as you can easilly hit level 30-40 ina single fight in some places.

I think you're playing a different game. In this game getting 400+ in all stats is not possible, unless you mod the game. I know this because I have close to 200 hours in the game and maxed out digimons for DLC content. You have only 15 hours.
