That is the stupidest defense Ive ever heard. Many games have stories. More successful ones know how to pace gameplay and story. If it was a visual novel it should have been marketed as such, not as an RPG.
But, sure, go ahead and keep ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥'. I'm sure some sorry guy on the internet will burst in tears thinking about your suffering.
o7 Good day.
Gee I struck a nerve. Sorry to criticise youre favorite game. Didnt think I would hurt your feelings so much, then again, youve responded the same to anyone else ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the pacing (usually the biggest complaint about this game - so I'm glad it fit YOUR preference), so I guess I'm not surprised.
Lots of games have Story in the name. If they wanted to reflect it, it should have said 'Slow Long Boring Story'.
Would have been more accurate.
Good day.
Or have decent pacing and not walls of dialogue?
But no we mistunderstand...'story' is in the name, after all.
even if there is a sense of urgency in the story there is no bad ending so you can ignore it and level up
this is the case with most RPGs.
if you are truely saying you want to level mons then you should realize every single dungeon in the game comes with a teleporter that lets you go back get diffrent digimons level them go back get another one, and so forth.
your complaint about raising digimons doesn't really make sense in this context.
i had 3 megas before the game dropped ultimates as bosses. so i'm quite curious to what your doing wrong?
also if you think this game is "restrictive." when it comes to leveling and grinding
then do yourself a favor and never touch any of the shin megami tensei or persona games.
because those would destory you.
I'm damn near 30. Been around since text based adventures. That doesnt excuse a bad story. Or bad pacing. You have to mix gameplay with story, otherwise, it may as well just be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ book.
Get your asses together, and stop simping for a company. If you really care about it, then give it proper criticism, and stop sucking its ass.
I am (now) liking the story and getting into the raising. But that doesnt excuse the horrible beginning, or the overwash of text that happens, and makes people want to stop playing. Ive heard it from others, and experienced it myself.
But apparently, even after years of playing JRPG's, we dont know how they go.
Get ♥♥♥♥♥♥. Good JRPG's used presentation with limited text to get the story across, as that was the original formation for the good cinemetics we see today. To make that excuse is ridiculous, and shows how far up your own asses you are when you want this franchise to succeed.
Hey ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, you want it to succeed? Then give it proper criticism, and try to push for a proper Digimon game in the west. Not a half ass port of a portable game that even God Eater could beat out in story and execution.
I'm not the only one saying so. But if you want to keep supporting Bandai's outright abuse of its developers, and the franchises they own, go ahead.
I wont be. I'll at least give my reviews at an honest level, ♥♥♥♥♥ about issues where they are, and hope that some of the franchises that I love dont turn into the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cash grabs we have seen from these companies in the past few years.
Bandai has done plenty to add to that one. But you guys can keep drooling over their franchises.
You'll all buy the next Dragon Ball, Digimon, God Eater, Sword Art, Attack on Titan, or any other anime you love, and Bandai will own it. It will always be a subpar game, with addicting mechanics, and overpriced DLC.
I'm not arguing it's bad to criticize. I just genuinely think you're missing the point and conflating an issue. People are pointing the story aspect out to you because that's the main aspect of this game over the other Digimon games. It's main focus is on story based dialogue. This isn't debatable, that is the main aspect of the game; so much so it's in the title.
Having a fast-forward dialogue feature would be nice, sure. That, however, is irrelevant to the core game-design of this particular Digimon game.
All that said, continue to throw a tantrum; it will effect nothing other than you getting flamed for acting like a ♥♥♥♥.
Again...the story aspect doesnt bug me..its the pacing and presentation, but ive already been over that.
Call it a tantrum, but ive gotten hate mail DM's on this post. So I'm a bit pissed off. I made a joke with some crticism, and people made a mountain out of it. I'm just defending my point, and sticking to it.
The first 4-6 hours of the game could have been paced better. That was the point of the post. I made my last rant clear on the types of criticisms Ive had from simply saying so.
If you guys want to talk about how this was bad, and have an actual discussion of how this story could have it better, then thats more in line with the discussion I was trying to fire up. If you guys just want to pretend this game is perfect and deserves no story criticism, I'm going to turn off notifications for my own post, and you can argue amongst yourselves.
I have no problem with people pointing out it's a slow game, and that it's missing features that would make it more fun for people not interested in the dialogue. I really don't know why they didn't include a skip or at least fast-forward function.
That, unfortunately, isn't how your original post and subsequent comments looked like. It was a general criticism to the dialogue heavy nature of the game, which I'm sure a lot of the frequents (I'm not) are probably sick of seeing.
All that said, after conversing and understanding the gist of what it is you're not a fan of, it's a valid complaint of the game.
