I've seen that the mod manager doesn't support linux at the moment and that that statement is pretty old. Any workarounds that anyone knows of? I'm not as confident in monkeying with files without a guide as I was 15 years ago.

I'm not looking to mod mid-game, it's all going to be done before I start and left alone.

You can probably run the Windows version of the mod manager just fine using Wine/Proton.

Alternatively you could mod the game on Windows and then transfer the (modified) files over.

Edit2: And while we're at it, I strongly recommend also installing the DSCSModLoader (it's a separate thing), since it contains some Steam Deck specific bug fixes for the game. -> https://github.com/SydMontague/DSCSModLoader/releases

I did the mod loader + installed the mods then moved them over and overwrote, it's all working, booted straight up no issues at all. Thanks!
