I see thank you.
you might have some extra attachment to certain digimon if you have been enjoying the franchise for a while, otherwise does it now turn into a "lets see what this one can evolve into, is this cool..hmm nope, next one" which is my experience with most of the digimon that wasn't in the original show, I've not been in the franchise since the original show back in the day, and the game does a perfect job at presenting itself as standalone thing that doesn't require external information to enjoy.
It's a typical JRPG, with Mysteries you're supposed to solve ( usually ends up being a digimon creating havoc in some shape or form ) and then with many of the positive features you know from Pokémon except you don't capture digimon in little balls, instead do you scan them on every single encounter and when you've enough "scan percentage" you can essentially clone / recreate that digimon at your digilab.
So if you ask me it's the perfect combination of a JRPG / Monster tamer game if you've grown jaded of the pokémon franchise and desire something with a bit less handholding.
besides the discovery aspect of trying to figure out how to evolve and unlock all digimon is fun in and of itself :)
actually, this game requires certain knowledge
1) special moves can't be inherited at all.
2) you need to learn the "type and attributes" of every single digimon
and to do that, you need this
this link contains all the entire digimon list for the game including their attribute and type
https://www.grindosaur.com/en/games/digimon/digimon-story-cyber-sleuth/digimon
-------------------------------------------------------
this person from this thread on the link below i provide clearly lacks these knowledge which i mention above.
https://steamcommunity.com/app/1042550/discussions/0/3709306945110029260/
he thinks that what he complain is a "bug and/or glitch" when it isn't at all.
-------------------------------------------------------
to "pocketyoda",
do not listen to "nyx" at all.
"nyx" is providing misleading information in his post.
there is no way anyone can memorize all the "types and attributes" of every single digimon in this game at all.
I don't believe Nyx was trying to mislead me. Just trying to help.
You seem to be confused about what Nyx was talking about. He was saying you dont need knowledge about Digimon Lore, not how the game works.
his first paragraph actually says everything.
which i'm going to quote here
1) This game doesn't require any knowledge about Digimon.
you might have some extra attachment to certain digimon if you have been enjoying the franchise for a while, otherwise does it now turn into a "lets see what this one can evolve into, is this cool..hmm nope, next one" which is my experience with most of the digimon that wasn't in the original show, I've not been in the franchise since the original show back in the day, and the game does a perfect job at presenting itself as standalone thing that doesn't require external information to enjoy
--------------------------------------------------
do you know what this means?????
it means that you can play Digimon Cyber Sleuth "BLINDLY".
by stating "don't need external information" it is already wrong to say it.
by also stating "this game don't require any knowledge about digimon" it is already wrong thing to say.
all Games Requires Basic knowledge on the game.
if you tell everyone that you can play the Games without Basic Knowledge of the said game
do you think they will understand and learn on "how to play the game" at all
no, i don't think so.
------------------------------------------------
if not why each and every single Game got people writing up a Guide and Walkthrough for other people then.
----------------------------------------------
people will just quit the game if they don't understand "how to play the game" in the first place.
and that is Basic knowledge.
--------------------------------------------
if want to provide help, then don't write such a paragraph that doesn't help in the first place.
p.s i will never write such a paragraph at all as it doesn't help people at all. instead, it is implying the "opposite".
p.s i have played games for 30 years since the early 1990s till now.
You are taking this all way to literal. He was just saying you dont need previous knowledge about the Digimon Games or Anime. Unless you are crazy obsessed about Min Maxing, or getting a certain Digimon, you dont need to know anything more about the game itself beyond what you learn in the Game. Its not a hard game, just grindy unless you exploit Exp Bonuses.
Sorry but you dont get to tell anyone who is and is not allowed to provide info, that includes trying to inform you of something. You need to learn to Chill man. All I was doing was trying to let you know that you misinterpreted what was said. I admit I got it wrong, you just clearly over analyze and blow things way out of proportion.
I have played TONS of games in my life by just booting them up and learning as you go. You do know that there was a time when the Internet was not a thing, heck there was a time before Strategy Guides. Back when you had to walk into an Arcade to play most games you didnt even get Instructions. This whole idea you have that people cannot play a Video Game without Hand Holding is a YOU issue. Plenty of people do not feel the need for what you think they HAVE to have.
P.S: I have played games since the early 80's. So I guess by your logic I somehow know more and you cannot talk back to me.
