Digimon has just enough Fans in the West to make money, but not enough to add costs. They dont even bother to Dub the Anime anymore, if they even bother to bring it over. They just had a massive Reboot of Adventure that went for 67 Episodes, but never heard anyone outside of the Community talk about it. Even on this Forum they are not really talked about all that much.
So yeah the fact is we are a small group of Fans who grow just enough to keep getting at best B Grade Product, so they are going to save were they can to keep making it.
#edit - There's literally a million words they translated to English but yet 5% or less of the subtitles are being read aloud.
They still have to pay VA to do the work, and they are not cheap unless you get bad ones. No idea why you are thinking that if a niche game with minimal VA was to Dub it would increase sales by so much. Might it increase sales, sure, but by a 1000% no. It is unlikely it would up the sales enough to make the cost worth the effort.
I can understand wanting it, but from a Business perspective its not worth the risk as I already stated above. I have given you the info you want, but if your going to base this on just your feelings and ignore the Data I provided I cant do anything else.
You dont want to be convinced, you want to argue with me and I dont know why. I would also like Dubs in any Game with VA due to my Vision Problems, but I also understand they only have so much money to work with and have to justify spending it. If they were to lose money because of Dub then they might say releasing any future games in the West is not worth the risk.
I brought up the DS games because it was known in the Fan Base that they no longer considered worth it and we missed out. If we start demanding Dubs or no buy, then they might just decide to not release it over here as the Fan Base is rather small.
Thanks for the feedback
No problem. Its always nice to discuss things with people that I may not agree with as it give me a different perspective. Its just hard finding people that dont just instantly attack me for it. Its always okay to just "agree to disagree" and just understand people see things differently. Thanks for the discourse
This is a take that is beyond stupid because a game having dub voice acting isnt what sells games and in more often than not can actively negatively affect sales.
Best case scenario it had a dub with the typical digimon level of quality, that is to say its very bad.
Worst case scenario they hire your typical voice actors that are in most anime these days which would cause piracy for the game to skyrocket so that THOSE voice actors receive as little money as possible.
This is ofcourse ignoring the fact that the vast majority of people who would be buying a Digimon game are gonna be turning on Japanese audio anyway
It's very clear you guys base on assumptions instead of actually seeing it. Therefore, i'm still talking to a wall.
But there have also been plenty of Games with Dubs that have failed. This kind of logic goes both ways so its a bit impossible to use this as a point for anyone to change your mind. I fail to still understand how you expect anyone to do so as it seems you have made up your mind.
If you want to clearly lay out your reasoning for why you think a Dub of Digimon Games will increase the sales by this much then we could try and discuss it, but so far you have just blown off anything and your bar is proven to work both ways. I fail to see why you think Dubs will increase sales by 1000%, prove me wrong.
English people don't want to listen to japanese voice lines when we speak english unless you're a nerdy weeb.
Especially when it's correlated to digimon voices.
so... the people who would be buying a digimon game?
Honestly its kind of weird this guy chose now to troll on this game, we usually get these kind of posts on japanese games at launch not 2 years after launch
Pretty much. Kind of sad how people now think it the cool "outsider" thing to make fun of people who were once made fun of for liking this outsider thing. We got hate when we were young and treated like this, now since its popular we get the same hate from people trying to act cool. Messed up world we live in.
Same thing has been happening over on Code Vein. It just seems to be the "Edgy" thing to do right now.
