Gameplay similar to Digimon World DS?
I really like how combat/digivolving/the farm mechanics worked in World DS and this, from some random videos, looked like a similar game. How much does it have in common with those?

Or is it more like World 3 where the turn-order is fixed like pokemon?

I would say it's a bit like that. You have to de-digivolve sometimes in order to get certain evolutions. Combat seems pretty similar. Honestly I'd go for it. It's worth the price - I've beaten it and felt satisfied.

Well, digifarms are not too complicated like in digimon world ds. Also you can't talk with your digimons in your farm in this one. That means there is no digifarm digimon quests

Actually you can talk with them they are sending messages to you but you can't talk with them in your digifarm

Oh, neat. I prefer digivolving when it's directed by me along a branch instead of completely random or based on hidden stats. (As much as I like DMW1...screw its hidden stats.) and I don't mind the devolutions, so long as I can see the requirements clearly.

I kinda hated the farm quests anyway, they felt pretty meaningless. Do farms still aid in training or are they just storage?

I take it that means combat is mostly the same as in DS though right? I love how I could just completely shut down opponents before they got the chance to strike me because of the way turn order worked.

Also, are all the digimon in this game or does it omit some? and how early can I get a patamon? >.>;

the real name of digimon world ds is digimon story. the localisers changed it to "world".

so both "world ds" and these two games (this is a double port) are part of the same series, digimon story. so yes, they will be very similar, just with 3d models.

the zone stuff is dead though

also there ARE digi farm quests. not sure what that guy is on about

"Also, are all the digimon in this game or does it omit some?"

across both games there are 341 digimon. in total there are over 1500 digimon. good luck getting that many when pokemon gave up at 800

Thanks for the answers. On why I asked if all the digimon were in this game: DS had a trading mechanic you needed to do to get certain ones, and World 3 was extremely limited in which guys I could raise (it didn't even have veemon's good evo line), I basically just wanted to make sure I could get my favorites since I usually go for a handful of dudes in every game and hate missing out on them.

If anyone is curious, I mostly raise holy, bird, beast, and occasionally plant mons. :)

I'm glad to know that this is the same series as World DS. I really liked how chill that game was, but can't easily play DS games anymore without emulation. Guess I'll pick this game up when I get the chance. :D

Levelling in this game is much faster and you have more customization over movesets as one Digimon through evolution can reach all Digimon.

Skills play a big role and lv 99 maxed ABI stats are fixed with 150 bonus training stats. So you cant max out 999 like the DS games.

Vaccine, Data, and Virus play much bigger roles in battle damage than the DS games and is vital to understand.

Oh that's cool. I remember those mattered in other games but the DS game was pretty easy like world 3 was. That didn't bother me, but I'm glad that mechanic wasn't just forgotten.

One more thing though, are both the games this comes with separate games? As in, do my guys carry between them, or do I need to start over raising them?
