The Un-Dub Mod [UPDATE: v1.1 NOW AVAILABLE]
[NEW!] v1.1 ALSO AVAILABLE HERE:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2111176551

What is this mod?
This mod replaces the US dub names, attacks and terms in Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition with the original Japanese terms. For example, Omnimon is renamed Omegamon, Digivolution is now Evolution, De-Digivolution is Degeneration and Pepper Breath is now Baby Flame. This includes the relevant image tutorial files and some UI elements.
I have also fixed some (albeit not all) typos and the most egregious translation issues like Bakemon, as well as (supposedly) all the mislined multiple options of dialogue and inconsistent/wrong responses in the Digi-Line questions ("haddock" for example). In v1.1 I have also retranslated Inherited Skills, Enemy Skills, Support Skills and Items.
This is NOT, however, a full retranslation mod and does not fix things like the Main Character being refered in dialogue as male even if you make them female.

Contents
- Replaced all dub names, attacks and terms, both in text and in image form (tutorials and UI);
- Retranslated Inherited Skills, Enemy Skills, Support Skills and Items [NEW! in v1.1];
- Fully removed English "censorship track" [NEW! in v1.1];
- Fixed several typos and inconsistencies;
- Fixed some translation errors in dialogue (namely the Eater-Bakemon shenanigans);
- Fixed the Digi-Line questions that had answer inconsitencies/errors;
- Fixed DigiMedals with wrong names.

Changelog . v1.1

Changes

- "Un-dubbed"/Retranslated Inherited Skills, Enemy Skills, Support Skills and Items;
- Changed all instances of "Cross Combo" to "Xros Combo" to match the battle graphics, including the tutorial image texture;
- Removed all traces of the 'censorship track' (the "unknown2" column in text files, that takes priority over 'regular' English text and is whose contents censor instances of "Sistermon Noir" and "Tower Records");
- Changed "Orgemon" back to "Ogremon", since the source of the name is "Ogre" and thus "Orgemon" is clearly an official mistranslation;
- Changed "Hackmon" (and consequently all of its main Evolutions with the exception of Jesmon) to the official romanization of "Huckmon", since both are correct corruptions of the source "haku" and the previous name "Hackmon" is shared by an Appmon (although no Appmon appear in any of the games and the first Cyber Sleuth predates Digimon Universe: App Monsters by a year);
- Removed brackets from "(X-Antibody)" medals to match the Japanese text;
- Removed unnecessary duplicate mod files in DSDBSP.steam.mvgl.

Fixes

- Fixed Digi-Line answers that were mistranslated in v1.0 (mainly wrong answers to questions whose correct answers were attack names that were changed to Romaji in v1.0, since back then I had no access to the Japanese script and was translating those wrong answers from Chinese);
- Restored vanilla translation fixes that were lost because I started doing this project on the original text files (from DSDB.steam.mvgl) instead of the most up to date files (from DSDBS.steam.mvgl);
- Restored missing options text and missing "Quit the game?" text because of the situation explained in the previous bulletpoint;
- Fixed corrupted Hacker's Memory quest text.

Known issues
- Your current playthrough’s Digimon will not be automatically renamed and the game will consider their dub names as nicknames, which means that if you try to Evolve your MegaloGrowmon (still named WarGrowlmon) into Ultimate, the resulting Ultimate Digimon will retain the WarGrowlmon name. You can reset your Digimon name in the Settings tab of the Digivice’s Digimon menu by deleting the entire name and then pressing Enter (might only work with Keyboard). If this doesn’t work you’ll need to use a Cheat Engine table to force rename your Digimon (link below). The same will happen with Ogremon, Huckmon and Huckmon's evolutions if you were playing in this mod's v1.0.
- The Digi-Line messages you already received will keep their dub/previous names. I do not know how to fix this.
- Since the bulk of this mod was made using Search/Replace functions, the German translation also had changes to names, albeit partial, since some names differ from the English translation and all the manual changes I did only affect the English translation. Be wary of this if you intend to play the game in German.

Thanks
- SydMontague, creator of the invaluable DSCSTools that made all of this possible, and who also helped me with every issue I had along the way;
- Yamato-san and TMS, who helped with the retranslation of Inherited Skills and Enemy Skills;
- Marcus, who brought to my attention some Digimon that had different official names in in the Digimon Reference Book;
- Wikimon - The #1 Digimon Wiki and its creators/contributers, that had most information needed for this project, especially its attack tables that include Japanese and English dub names;
- Grindosaur's Cyber Sleuth Hacker’s Memory guide.

Will add, you should add/turn this into a guide instead of forum post so it's easier to find for new players

I may do that once I finish things. I still need to update the mod with un-dubbed Inherited Skills, Enemy exclusive skills and fix two major bugs: Hacker's Memory quest list is completely broken and the graphical options and button mapping menu options are invisible. I was using the dialogue and texts from the base game file (DSDB, that's a direct port from the Switch version) instead of the updated Steam dialogue and texts that were on another file (the one you overwrite in the instructions, DSDBS).

Hmm I see, good luck

I just remembered other dub change changes.

Kowloon is a dub name. The official romanisation is Cool Wrong. You see this in the background of ebemons dungeon

So it's Cool Wrong and Under Cool Wrong

Some other dungeons prob got changed too.

Also some of the enemy hacker teams in HM have dub names too

Spread Wings are Hane no Bashi-tai

Tokyo Shock Groove are Tokyo Kanden Groove

Dust Alliance are Dust Doumei

Spike and Shield are Spike Shield

Dinosaurists are Dinosaur Church

Steam Dealers are Steamryman

Also Mr Navit is called Navit Kun

In a quest in cyber slueth with Numemon and elecmon they were renamed. In the dub they're lekkie and newnew. In Japan they're Ecchan and Nuu-Kun

Great work, I always wanted to change the names of my digimons to the original, but some of them was not possible due to the character limit.
I noticed two things you may want to revise. The first one is the name of Zubaeagermon, when selecting the evolution, it's name is not the same as the defaut one. The second is Alphamon and Alphamon NX techs Digitalize of Soul and Seiken Gradalpha, their names are switched.
