Game won't start at all !!!
I've purchased, downloaded and installed but it won't start...

Not even a single windows that pop up.

when I start the game, it update my steam with "is playing Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition" for 2 or 3 second and then it stop...

I don't even have the time to see the process on the task manager...

I've above minimal specs (but no 1080/2080ti)

What I've try but didn't help :

- Restart Steam / PC
- Try lunching steam / the game as Admin
- Try ALL compatibility mode
- I've install the lastest version of windows 10
- I've install the lastest version of nvidia drivers
- I've install ALL vcredis vcredist (32/64)
- I've install ALL direct x vcredist (32/64)
- Try lunching the game from .exe
- Try lunching the game with cr4cks

Can someone please help me with this I realy want to play this game...

Yea the issue is somewhere on my OS but since I have no idea where and I don't want to make an fresh install of my OS.

So I will just run the game in a VM :)

there is how :

[TUTO] how to play the game the most ghetto way
  1. Download and install the game with steam
  2. Download and install a VM software
  3. Download and setup the lastest WIN_10 in the VM software (you need to setup a least some good spec in your VM, I've use this : 4GB of ram and put all you CPU in it)
  4. [In the VM] Download and install Steam
  5. In the VM software add your steam folder to your VM as a Shared folder (as a network drive) **RESTART THE VM**
  6. [In the VM] Log into Steam and go to the setings for adding a new Steam folder (add the Shared folder)
  7. [In the VM] Now that the game library is shared from your main OS, Start the game once (this should not work but will at least download Steamworks files)
  8. [In the VM] You should have download Steamworks files, go find them in the steam folder
  9. [In the VM] now install DirectX from it
  10. [In the VM] Start the game again (should work)
  11. From there go to your steam on your main OS and select play this game from "Streaming from DESKTOP-XXXX"
  12. [In the VM] Read and proceed to install steam remote play drivers
  13. Now you can play the game on your main OS trough remote play hosted in a VM, hosted in your main OS
WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE

  14. (you will maybe need to tweak some audio settings in your main OS to have sound)

Nice info, really good! Thank you for sharing with us!

You seem to have done everything, except verifying game's files, have you done that? Also, delete the shortcut you had from Steam if it's pirated and games > add non steam games > find the game from the list and add it again, restart the whole steam and play. No need to run Steam as admin as this will make things complicated.

Nope still don't work...

Had this problem with the torrented version of the game. The fix that worked for my is going to the installation directory and launching the app from there. Not sure if it will work on Steam but it is worth a shot.
I've already try "- Try lunching the game from .exe"

Yes, "- Try ALL compatibility mode"
Already think about that, try with and without my Antivirus... do nothing
what do you mean by "registry from steam" ?

I've forgotten to put it in the OP but I've already try to verifying game's files.
I'm trying to play the legit steam version that I paid, but none of legit or pirated work.
And no, shortcut is not the issue here since it don't work either when I try to start it from the EXE of the game (with no shortcut)

This is a long shot, but. In the Windows event viewer there may be an error log entry for the appcrash, it may contain more helpful information (especially the error offset, which would indicate which part of the code is crashing).

I do have the pirated version, too so far, until I buy the game from Steam, planning to, have it on my wishlist with follow in case any news comes up and when I get payed, I'm gonna get it, but I don't have a problem. And I mean, it's normal for a cracked version to do these things, but a payed one, too??

My reason would be to completely delete both of them, uninstall them actually, for real, look/search your whole computer for ANY remnant file, both legal and cracked, and then download and install ONLY the legit version from Steam, it could be the cracked version somehow messed up your legit copy, I don't know what else it might be, that is strange....

Also, listen to Syd.

When you say "in the past" ? The complete edition is barely 11 days out on Steam.
Quon Oct 27, 2019 @ 9:07am
what does it have to do anything with the games release date?

Well, saying "in the past" is making it look like it's something way older than a month or more, and with the issue been "fixed" by then, it was kind of weird to read something like this on a barely 11 days old game on Steam, and to be honest, I never saw anything like that before, also, you deleted your comment which felt even more weird, just wanted to ask.

Nope the issue can't come from there, I've got the pirated version AFTER the steam one to test if the issue was from my steam.

Do you have any other computer to test this out? I guess there is something on your OS that is blocking it, besides an anti-virus, which, I doubt an anti-virus would block a steam game, but I don't know what kind of AV you have, if any at all.

If you have another computer, try to log in with your Steam there and try the game out, at this point we have confirmed it is not from your Steam or your game(s), but something with your computer.

Can't find anything about Digimon, I don't even have recent Error or warning.

And no my AV is not to blame, I've already try whitout it and it change nothing.

I'm actualy trying to setup a VM to run an other windows and test it here... we will see.

I'm currently having the same issue. Before hand the game would just become unresponsive after a few minutes of running. The only way for me to solve it was to run 2 instances of the game (so 1 was unresponsive and the 2nd was fully working, ofcourse this taxed my CPU to hell because Im running a temporary Ryzen 3200g). Starting yesterday the game would force close itself a few seconds after opening and I've been unable to play since.
